I had the title "coordinator" when I was in charge of the plant lab. I had 10 people reporting directly to me, but I wasn't part of the management team. (I reported to the manager, but I was her only direct report.). I think some companies use it instead of supervisor now. I don't think of it as an admin position.

The coordinators at my company aren't management, but merely coordinate tasks, patients and assignments. Nobody answers to them though. I don't think of it as entry-level (you have to have experience to be a care coordinator here), but I don't think of it as management.

I consider it a higher level admin, under a manager.

I'm a coordinator in my job. I supervise 30 volunteers, and create crime prevention programming for them to execute, but I'm not technically a manager. But I work for local government, so true management are non-union. I'm essentially one of the highest non-exempt jobs, so not entry level, but not management either.

I know people with "coordinator" on both sides of this! I don't know. I always find it confusing.

I honestly have no idea what your position would entail...when I read "coordinator" it looked to me like it might involve some event planning?

Not all people that have direct reports have "manager" in their job title. Some people are product managers, for example.

I don't care about title. I just care about my salary. You can call me whatever you want as long as I get paid what I want.

We have a coordinator on my team, and she is a high level admin with a lot more tasks that anyone would care to know about!

I don't put much stock into job titles. In my industry, it can vary so much by company - for example, an "Associate" in one company is an entry level position, but in my company, it is three levels under VP (and there are 9 levels). Years experience and job responsibilities are the focus on resumes because titles can vary so much.
