@swedishfish: aw, I'm sorry! I mean, I love the name Mae (um, obviously haha). I think it has just been engrained in my from my grandma. She's always made no secret of the fact she dislikes her name combo because she thinks "nancy mae" is akin to "daisy may" or "betty sue" something. Hearing her say it so much has sort of made it true for me/my family but I doubt the rest of the world feels that way!
