I am interested in buying a k'Tan on the HB classifieds, but I'm not sure which size. I guess i should throw my size out there...Pre-baby I wore a size 4 or so...Post-baby I'm guessing I'm a 10? 12? I have no idea. I am 5'6 and weighed 125 then... I weigh 158 now, but I'm losing steadily. I can't find one locally to try on.
Sorry for all my baby-wearing madness and questions on here. DS is a really gassy, refluxy baby and he has decided the Moby is too hot for him!

I would get the size you are now (based on the sizing chart) because if you get the smaller size your LO will be too tight and it will be uncomfortable. Since its made of cotton you can throw it in the dryer if the k'tan gets too big and it will shrink

I am currently your weight and was/hope to again be your pre-preg weight and I got a medium. Works fine now and as I get smaller, LO gets bigger so hopefully it will continue to work fine.
BTW I think the K'tan is hot, but I don't have a Moby to compare it to so it very well could be less hot.

@grizz: I would guess that right now you need a medium. BUt, I don't think it'd be any cooler than the Moby - it is essentially the same thing, just prewrapped (you'd probably be cooler since it's less fabric around you). Maybe a linen or lightweight fabric ring sling? THat's what we've been using since it's been hot.

I don't think it would benefit you to get a Ktan at this point. If I were you, I would get something that will grow with LO. Probably a RS or mei tai. FWIW, I love my linen SBP sling, but I LOVE my WCRS. It's so comfy with my 15 month old, and I know it will be great with a tiny baby too.

There is a ktan breeze which might be cooler. I haven't used any of them yet so that's all I can offer but its worth checking into. Alsoiveoccassonally seen it on nbd in limited sizes.

I think there is an affordable mei tai wrap by infantino through amazon. We a have a mei tai and its cooler than our other carriers

I agree with @Weagle: you won't be able to use the k'tan for much longer. Ring slings or mei tais would be cooler.

R is 13lbs and almost 5 months and we still use the Ktan.

I was on the cusp of the sizing chart and was told to pick the smaller size as they do shrink. I'm still pregnant and it's pretty tight now, but I have stretched it a bit, lost a bit of my giant bump and once the weight of the baby is in there hopefully it will be good. I also got the breeze model as we live in a hot climate.
