We used lollipop bribes during haircuts on Tuesday and it worked well for LO 1 but not so much for LO 2.

E is still a little young to understand bribes, really, but we used a bribe-style distraction the other night that backfired! E LOVES her wellies (rain boots) and is always asking for them.... so the other night, when she was throwing a tantrum because I stopped her drawing on the furniture and wouldn't give her the pen back, I said "ooh, lets put wellies on and splash in the puddles". She was SO excited.... and DEVASTATED when we discovered that we had left them at Nanny & Grandad's house. We tried cake, juice, TV but the only thing that would stop her crying and wailing "wellies, wellies" was me saying "ooh, look, here's that pen you were playing with. Do you want it?". Which she did, of course. Epic fail.

Let him hold my hand at dinner table if he tried some salmon! It's different but that kind of bribe works really well for him.

He could watch a video if he got dressed this morning. There was a timeout in there too.

M doesn't take bribes.
D was bribed with yogurt last night. But, it was actually a silly bribe, cause I just told him he had to say I was right to get it, lol.

I found him a dime while trying to get him to leave the playground. He got all excited and asked if we can use it on a coin kiddie ride next door. It takes quarters, so I said no but we can buy a hot dog with lots of dimes. Hmm... I don't remember learning what money is for at his age

After most meals I tell him to finish his proteins (meat) in order to get his fruit (blueberries, strawberries, etc.). Does that count as a bribe? Sometimes when he doesn't want to get into his car seat I offer him gummy bears. That I know is a bribe!
