just be yourself and orget the camera. do something where you can laugh and feel really "you". you only need 1or 2 great photos out of the lot anyway.

I felt fat my entire pregnancy too so decided not to do a maternity shoot. I kinda regret it!
I'm glad your sister decided to surprise you! I would wear something you're comfortable in, and just let the photographer know how you feel. It's amazing what some people can do with a camera! I'm sure you'll look great!

Shots from above are super flattering for the face!!! Don't let her get below eye level at ALL or your face will look bigger.

For me, I have a gross chin so shots from directly in front of me look best.

I would also bring several outfits and see what looks best on camera. If I were you I'd go shopping right now!

ps I was also too crazy insecure during pregnancy so I only took ONE set of photos at the very end to document how I looked pregnant. Wagon Sr. took them. And what a sweet gift.

If you wear pants, do the one leg in front of the other trick! And the other red carpet tricks that make celebrities look as thin as possible.

@Mrsdaredevil: I was going to suggest a dress... Motherhood has cute ones and they're rarely over $30!

That's such a great gift! I know you feel huge, but I bet you will love looking at the pictures later. I was so self-concious when I was pregnant last year and I wouldn't let anyone take my picture. Now I would LOVE to have pictures. I feel like I can barely remember being pregnant, and (weirdly) I miss it!

Make sure you wear something that makes you feel good!

That's a great gift! I had mine done at almost 36 weeks, so I had a sizeable bump as well! I brought 4 different outfits to wear, so we had lots of variety, and my photog (who is an accredited maternity photographer) asked about any insecurities etc before we started (I didn't have any, but they know how to minimize things that you aren't comfortable with). I also got my mini-makeover that day (hair, makeup mani and pedi) which made me feel really awesome, and I am sure that will show in the pics. Either way, make sure your nails are freshly painted and manicured, because there will be some hand shots in the pictures!

I got my hair done the day of the photos and I'm soo glad I did! I love how it turned out and it was nice feeling pampered.

I wore a maxi skirt and top for half the photos, then a pretty sweater and white pants for some, and a beautiful ruched (slimming!) dress for the rest. I felt great. Clothes made a difference.
