I dropped R's full dinner plate on the floor tonight. She was already crying cause she is impatient and she started crying even more once the plate dropped. So I just put the food back on the plate verses heating up more. As soon as she got her plate she stopped crying.

I have been totally slacking on the cooking department lately! The other night I did not feel like cooking for just LO and I. So I heated up leftovers, pizza and quesadillas and french onion soup I had previously frozen. We had pizza and quesadillas for lunch that same day!

I gave her a bath in the sink at my parents before coming home because I was too lazy to try and attempt a real one.

I re-heated the same meal three times for M. She wouldn't finish it last night for dinner (so she ended up eating hummus on toast), didn't finish it again for lunch today (b/c she wanted bread - sigh) and then FINALLY ate it all along with some additional food for dinner tonight.

I laid on the floor and rested while letting c climb all over me, and tried to convince myself I was a good jungle gym and I was encouraging independent play. But really I was laying on the floor.

C was being sooooo fussy before I even had dinner finished, so he ate a random mix of string cheese, clementines, and Ritz crackers. I just kept throwing stuff to him so I could get dinner on the table during DH's 30 minute dinner break.

LMW may have gotten her first taste of wine. We came in the house and she picked up the cup Wagon Sr. had left out the night before after he finished his wine. He claims it was empty, but she was smacking her lips.. When I grabbed it, it was empty and dry so I think she got a drop. It was a sweet moscato. Worst parents ever. She's not even 2 yet.

@grizz: I serve my LO dinner a la carte often. If I'm solo, I'll have him start with yogurt by himself in the high chair while I get the plate ready. It keeps him from being underfoot and whiny while I get it ready.
I don't know if this is truly a mom confession, but the only way I've been able to convince LO to brush his teeth is by telling him that Elmo does it. It's okay to brush your teeth if Elmo does it too.

The daycare LO goes to makes lots of fresh healthy food. Today they were thrilled to discover LO likes beans. They asked me what recipes I use. I lied and said I boil them. I just give her canned beans. Maybe I'll start making them on my own out of shame.

@cascademom: Oh, I convince LO to do a lot of things by telling her that one of her friends does it. It's especially effective if I tell her she needs to eat her food because "best friend" really loves that particular food.

@Weagle: Ohh, glad I'm not alone. My DH jokes about how we use peer pressure to get him to do things.
@Corduroy: I buy frozen veggies, put them in a custard cup with some water, and heat it in the microwave. It's how I've been doing veggies for the longest time. For DH and I, I use a microwave steamer or the frozen veggie steam bags for dinner.

I almost voluntarily let L lick my beer bottle the other day and then was like OMG! You can't let your baby lick beer off things!!!" So, at least you didn't just offer the wine up......

Latest? Hmm. E had Wendy's chicken nuggets for dinner and didn't touch the apple slices or the frozen, steam-bag broccoli I added. I guess my confession is that I shrugged it off in an "oh well" sort of way. Poor kid's been sick, and I'm just happy he's eating SOMETHING...I'm not going to fight him too hard on what it is...

We were sitting in a restaurant with a tired, fussy two year old tonight eating with my mom... and I loudly called a lady at the next table who was glaring at us a nosy bitch for doing so.
She's 2. Shit happens and we were making an effort to calm her down. I got to a point where there were zero fucks to be given... and I have always sworn Id never be the parent with the noisy kid in the restaurant.

It was just me and LO today, and my husband had to take my car, so we couldn't drive anywhere, and the stroller and all 3 pairs of his shoes were in the car, so we couldn't walk anywhere!
Out of desperation, I found Barney on the TV and put it on.
fortunately, it only caught his attention for about 5 minutes, but man! Barney!

I often tell LO we can watch bubble guppies if she cleans up her toys. When really i just need a break plus dont want to clean up. Its amazing how well it works!

I let my three month old watch the tail end of a Friends episode and the beginning of the sports news so that I could get dinner prep out of the way... Hate doing it but the kid craves constant stimulation. I kept popping back over and talking to him and figured that as long as he was more interested in me than the TV, it was okay

@.twist.: @lovehoneybee: Umm...I let my kid get humped by a mini poodle at a play date last week because it was hilarious and I wanted a picture. I realized I was being a bad mom and ended up stopping him, but then immediately regretted not getting photo evidence. Mom of the year right here.

I gave dd a mum-mum to eat on the car ride home yesterday so she wouldn't fall asleep in the car and I could relax during her nap at home

It was my night for bath last night and I was no in the mood, so after she was all washed I said "do you want a cookie, but we have to get out first." And of course she did, so instead of playing longer in the water like I would normally let her, she ate a cookie on the couch while I sat next to her and relaxed. Not winning mom of the year over here!

I'm 38 weeks pregnant with a 2.5 year old. we've been watching frozen more than I should admit! frozen= an hour and 15 minutes of getting things done or snuggling on the couch. :-\

@Smurfette: Oh geez - I'm bad about this! I'm solo parenting for the week, and freaking exhausted. We were at the grocery store last night and L freaks out for dinner as soon as we leave daycare, so I thought ahead to bring some cuties with me for her to snack on. Girlfriend would NOT stop dropping them on the floor, and then would freak out about it. So, she got orange slices off the grocery store floor multiple times that trip... I was in no mood to deal with it

DH is forever thinking it's hilarious to give DS his beer bottle to hold or suck on. Even the time where DS puked in said beer doesn't deter him.
DS loves zucchini but only the frozen kind. Doesn't like it when I make it fresh. I tend to feed him the same things for dinner over and over again. I rationalize it that he eats a lot of really good organic food at daycare so I don't have to worry.
fortunately, it only caught his attention for about 5 minutes, but man! Barney!
