I may be getting a little ahead of myself here but I just wanted to check in with you all. Baby is coming in less than two months and I will be a first time Mom.
I just got an invitation to my nephews birthday party at a play gym 3 weeks after my due date. I know I will be invited to another birthday party around then as well as 3 baby showers within 6 weeks of my due date. I am really honest with people and just say I'm not making any commitments until baby gets here and we will try and come if we are regularly leaving the house.
I feel like what people tell me is all over the place. Keep your baby inside for as long as possible to keep them from getting sick. They are so easy when they are newborns take them out to eat whenever you can. My Dr said she flew on a plane with her baby at 3 weeks. My friend who is a second time Mom brought her 13 day old to my shower Saturday.
Right now we have plans to go to my family beach house 2 months after my baby is born with all grandparents, our best friends and their daughter and my BIL SIL and nephew for Mother's Day/my birthday (on the same day) and plan on going to a brunch. I feel good about that.
I don't know what to think, and I want to be cautious (March in Oregon can be very cool and rainy) but I don't want to be paranoid. I will have zero problem telling people they can't pass the baby around if I'm not comfortable with it.
When did you take your baby out of the house for the first time? What about to a place where there are lots of germs (play gym or plane ride)? I just want to be sure I'm thinking of this stuff now when my head is clear.
