Is she FF or RF? DS is 2 and I recently tried FF and he hated it. He constantly asked to get out or get down. I turned him back around to RF and all is well again.

I only have sympathy. We have had the same struggle. I think it had more to do with getting older and not wanting to sleep in car/bored/hot, than the convertible seat for us.

@snowjewelz: One of my LOs dislikes the car, too. She stopped napping in the car 6 months ago or so (16 months now), but I don't mind that too much because at least we don't risk having the short little car naps that mess up our daily schedule! For the most part I ride in the back during longer trips with a bunch of stuff that I can pull out and show her. She's really into stickers right now so that works well, but I know your LO is probably too young for that! I also feed her Cheerios or goldfish one by one over the course of a long trip. We rIsk spoiling her next meal, but it's a trade off to avoid the screaming. I think my DD just hates the feeling of being confined, which is why she hates her car seat.

DS has never been a fan of the car but it's definitely been better (relatively speaking) for us since he's been in the convertible seat (he's 12 mo now, been in the convertible since about 7 mo). Besides feeding, board books (especially with flaps) keep him occupied in the car. I have a stash of 5-6 in there at all times!
