How old was your LO when they learned how to write their own name?
My 3.5 year old writes his own name, but I was told I was able I do it myself when I was 2.5 years old. I was just wondering when most kids hit that milestone.

Shortly before age 4. I think it's a "standard" (common core) for pre-k?

We have been working on letters at 2.5 but she's not quite there yet. I'm guessing she will have it by the time she's 3 or close too. At least her nickname, which is only 2 letters repeated ha.

DD1 is 2.5 and nowhere near writing her own name. She can spell it and recognise the letters, but she is still in the scribbling stage of 'writing' (I use that term loosely!)

olive can do it at 3.5 and i can't remember when charlie could exactly, but it was definitely much earlier. he was very interested in letters after we taught him mrs. cowgirl's name song.
you definitely have to write it in pre-k and charlie was 3 3/4 at the time.

J started at 2 but he has a 4-letter name (that includes an "O") and is OBSESSED with the alphabet and spelling. I don't think it's normal.

DD1 was around 3 years old. She has a pretty easy name. I think it will take DD2 longer...

LO is 3 months outside of 3 years old and nowhere near being able to write her own name. She can write the letter "e", but not really many others consistently, and she has a long name.
When she draws pictures/makes art though, she now "signs" it with her "name" - it's a very artistic little scribble that she puts in the corner of every picture and says is her name. So, if that counts.....

Friends of ours have a 3.5 year old who can write her name. Our 2.5 year old? Laughable. Maybe someday.

Dd is not even close to writing her name at 2.5 she can write the letter O pretty consistently buy that's it. Everything else is a scribble!

My 2.5 yo is on his way.....but I don't think a stranger could read it yet. His name has 5 letters, and a couple are definitely recognizable. We have more work to do

2.5, but she didn't have each letter quite down and did her own versions.

My son was able to at 3.5. Within a month or twos time he went from not being able to hold a pencil to being able to write pretty much all his letters.

Mine will be 3 in a couple weeks and is no where near writing letters. He does draw a line and say that is his name I think that is pretty cute for now.

My 3.5 year old is no where near being able to. She is a little behind in her fine motor skills, but I know that none of the other 3 or 4 year olds in her preschool can, so I think that's still pretty normal.
