I'm not kidding when I say my LO's fight 80% of the time, it is SO exhausting. It's usually my 3 year old picking on her, taking things from her, not sharing etc but it is getting really old. I know kids are kids but I am curious if others LO's fight as much as mine do and is there anything that can be done about it? Things are best when they are in different rooms but that's obviously not always possible. It's adorable when they do get along but it's so rare. Any advice/tips? I'm going to lose my mind!

Mine fight constantly - they are 2 and 4. It's exhausting to constantly be refereeing! No advice, just commiseration.

1 and 3.5. Someone is always whining, complaining, or crying about someone taking a toy, someone not sharing, someone pushing, etc etc. I think it's pretty common.

My 20 month old and 3.5 year old (girls) pick at each other a lot. The younger one is the instigator, snatching toys or swatting her big sis just for a reaction. I'm trying to teach the older one that ignoring it will help a bit!
In between the squabbles there's a lot of love there, though!

My eldest loved to build, and his sister would crawl over to his block towers and destroy them. It caused a lot of fights, until she got the hand-eye coordination she needed to start building on her own!
Now they play together all day long, and rarely fight - I never would've believed we'd get here, but it's gotten so much better!!

2.5 and 4. They squabble a little every day!

No advice because LO2 isn't here yet but my brothers fought a ton growing up and my mom was so worried they would always hate each other - well, they're BFFs now

I think it's common for same sex siblings to fight a lot. My two girls like to play with exactly the same toys every day so fights are unavoidable, but it has gotten a lot better. I have worked with them to cut down on the fighting, but I think they're naturally outgrowing it, too.
On the flip side, it's so cute how the girls can play with each other all day long and are BFFs.

My 3 yr old DD and 2 yr old DS fight constantly. There is rarely ever a break. DS will hit, pull hair, kick and screech at DD. DD hits, pushes and takes toys away from DS. Even meal times are a battle. The only time they act loving towards each other is bed time or when one is in trouble. DD will come up to me when DS is crying after getting yelled at and say, "Mama, why you do that? He's just a baby brother!" Cue my over exaggerated eye roll. The 3 yo trying to kill him is now defending him.
I've found if they are both old enough for time outs that sitting them on different pieces of furniture for a time out usually calms them. When they get up I tell them to hug one another and apologize. Then they play nice for the next 10 min. lol

We aren't quite there yet, but I already see the 9 month old "picking" on her older 3 year old sister. LO1 was working on her letters and LO2 was swatting at the paper laughing. LO1 thought it was funny, but I'm guessing in a few months it is less funny and fights start. She always says "mommy my room door must stay shut, it is to dangerous for LO2 to be in there, those are my toys."

3 years old and 19 months old - They rarely fight. It's mostly whining or crying if one takes a toy away from another. But usually you can distract the little one or the older one lets it go. I think once the younger one is older there will be more fighting.

It sounds like the age. DD is 4.5 and DS is 1.5. They play pretty well together because she can accept that he's a baby.

Mine never fight but they are also 2.5 years apart. There is mutual admiration though, they both adore each other!!
