At what age would you let your child sleep with a lovey, and what is the lovey you'd let them have?

She started sleeping with an Angel Dear stuffed-head-on-a-blankie at 6 months. By 10-11 months I felt comfortable letting her have regular stuffed animals, too. She has a whole menagerie at this point.

I let him sleep with a blanket with head type one from about 6 months when Id seen he was able to remove things from his face. He had it for naps only for a few weeks and I would watch like a hawk on the monitor til I was comfortable!

I'm a nervous Nellie so I think we'll wait until a year. She has a jelly cats puppy blanket that she loves which will work.

@FaithFertility: Our monthly thread got me thinking about this. I really don't recall when I gave one to C. And I let K have one in her RnP or in our bed. But I'm unsure about the crib.

She sleeps right next to me or during naps we watch her on the monitor so she's been sleeping with her lovey since 4 mo. She does like to throw it on top of her face though! I'm hoping it will be a tool for her to self sooth when we ST!

We have a little monkey made of a breathable mesh material that I'd be ok with him sleeping with now at 6.5m.

We use the A&A security blankets. I liked that they were breathable. I tested him before I let him have it in his crib. Basically, I put the lovey over his face and watched to see if he would take it off right away. The first few times, he didn't but somewhere between 5-6 months he did. That's how I got comfortable.

We started at 5 months. We started with A&A security blankets and then around 6 months introduced an angel dear lovey.

I think I started putting a lovey in the crib around 9 months or so but I don't remember exactly...she doesn't fall asleep with it, but she plays with it when she wakes up

E's had a wubbanub lovey since she was born. Around 8/9 months, we introduced a Jelly Cat giraffe into her crib.

We started with an Angel Dear lovey around 4 months when we sleep trained. I was a little nervous at first but our ped okayed it (when we mentioned we were going to start sleep training she said "you know it's fine to give him a lovey, right?")

DD had her lovey from 3 months old and it was okay. DS is almost 5 months and hasn't taken to it yet.
