We were gifted one. It wasn't really a toy she played with but my eldest isn't much for quiet activities anyway

We have a Madeline one, and are kind of meh on it, but lo might be too young (2.5) she likes the magnets but doesn't seem to get the scenes part quite yet. Like, she just piles them on top of each other, haha, or takes them out of the tin and puts them in little bags or carts and carries them around...

We have a Thomas book that has magnetic pages and some magnets and like @nana87: the magnets mostly just get piled on or ignored. Something like the Melissa and Doug reusable sticker pads with scenes might have more results and be smaller/lighter to transport.

My son has one, with construction vehicles that you can put together. He plays with it mostly when we're on airplanes, it's kind of once you do it, the novelty wears off.

I recently purchased hangman, so if I had to do it all over again, i would go more with games than "scenes" if that makes sense.

We have a few different variations of these and they've never gotten much play. I thought they looked so cool, but nope. Sticker books, magnadoodle, and good old paper and crayons beat out the magnet scenes every time.
