A friend of mine sent me this, she’s very passionate about keeping her maiden and I was not (I changed my last name to my husbands). It’s something we discuss quite often actually, in a friendly way.

This is about a women wanting to keep her maiden name. Switched it for marriage but 2 years in still didn’t feel right about so she went back to her maiden name (still married). She’s not sure what to do about kids, and I thought what you would do about kids in this situation?
So here is my questions. Did you keep or change your last name when you got married? If you have kids what last name did they get?
FWIW, I don't remember ever asking why or even noticing my mom had a different last name. That was just her name, haha.
. I didn't feel a whole lot of attachment to my last name. And it was essentially made up - when my great great grand parents had my great grandmother they didn't speak English and told them the last name in Russian, which apparently was "Gardener". It was spelled it phonetically on the birth certificate and my last name was born. A different sibling in that family had the same thing happen and their name was spelled differently!
