Hi Hi!
I am bored and planning way ahead for baby's baptism... Well not that far ahead..
Baby is due in June and we plan on baptising early. Most likely within the first 2 months (Any thoughts on when would be best from a baby point of view would be very welcome!).
So, I plan on hosting a reception at my house after the baptism. I will have time in the morning until probably 11am to have all the food ready. Mass is at 12 and would finish around 1pm. I live 1 minute walking from the church and so everyone would be coming here immediately after.
I need your help in planning lots of make ahead food. I figure we could have around 50-60 people.
Given that I will not be in the house before they arrive "Make ahead" would really mean make ahead! It can't really be things that need refridgeration/oven cooking right before serving. The ideal scenario would be that I would make all the food and lay everything out before leaving for the church (where I will be for 1 hour).
So far I was thinking I could make lots of cookie dough in advance freeze and then bake the morning off. I can make my own bread/bun dough and so could also make cinnamon buns in advance and bake in the oven the morning off.
So any ideas or links for amazing make ahead finger/party food which does not require assembly/cooking/refridgeration immediately before serving..?
Many thanks!
P.S. If you think I am mad for even thinking of hosting something like this when baby is so young, feel free to tell me
