Doctor/OBGYN/etc
It's largely personal preference. I have nothing against males and had a male ped until I was about 15-16 and had a good experience... but I have found I definitely prefer a female doctor. Although, if I didn't have my current doctor and found a male I loved just as much - the gender wouldn't matter. To me, it's more about the connection, trusting them, etc.
what is your preference? or does it not matter?

I'm indifferent. All of my doctors (GP, RE and OB-GYN) have been male. I also feel it's more about them as people than their sex. They're doctors, so I don't feel weird about it just because they're men and I am a woman.

I use to have a male OB/GYN that I loved and then we moved. I found another male OB/GYN that I loved as well! Then we moved again! In the new practice I met with 2 females and 1 male and loved the female so I stayed with her!

Our family doctor and my OB/GYN are males. I am totally fine with either.

For my OBGYN, I prefer a male. I had females before when I was younger and too shy to have a male, but I found that males are much more gentle, and I've found one who has THE BEST bedside manner. Love, love, love him...
The OB that delivered S was male and also part of the practice where the good bedside manner OB is. He's a bit more business...but he saved LO's life...so I'm eternally thankful for him as well.
PCP, I prefer a female for some reason...just more of a comfort thing.

Strongly prefer a female. I know (most) male doctors aren't creepy or anything, I'm just not comfortable with a male doctor, regardless of practice!
Although I did have a male doctor deliver L. It wasn't my favorite thing ever, but I managed just fine

I have no preference. My current OB is a male, and I'm seriously tempted to stay in this city forever just to keep using him.

I'm always open to either. I have had some male doctors I have really loved.
I want someone I can trust and respect first, gender isn't usually a factor. They must also take my insurance!

No preference. I've always had female OBGYNs, but during my pregnancy, I rotated through all the doctors in the practice. My 2 favorites were male!

For OB/GYN, pediatrics, and GP, I strongly prefer female and don't really trust the intentions of men.
For specialties and procedures/surgery, I care less.

depends on the kind of dr! OB-GYN, female dr, no question, but like my neurologists have both been men and i'm fine with that.

Doesn't matter to me. My GP is male, but my ND and midwife are female - I've had good experience across the board.

OB/GYN - Female
other - doesn't matter. my primary care physician is male and I really like him. DS's pedi is also a male.

Actually, both my PCP and my OB are men. They are both so awesome, I love them! Didn't even realize they were both males... haha. I don't care, either way.
ETA: Our future Pedi for this LO after it is born will be a female, but I chose her because she is an old friend of ours from college. Plus, she's in our network and rounds on the hospital I am going to be delivering at so it's perfect!

I prefer female. I feel like to understand a woman you need to be a woman. Although bedside manner beats male or female!

I prefer female but I'd be open to a male doctor if I found a really good one. For instance, I always preferred female massage therapists but once I had a visit scheduled with a different LMP at the same practice and he was just so much better that I switched to him.

I have no preference; my OB/GYN is a woman and I love, love, love her; but if everything were the same but she happened to have a penis nothing would change for me.

I put either!
I have a female OB that is badass and I love her but the male on call that delivered dd was awesome!
My gp really let me down recently and she is female... I would love a female dentist but my male dentist is the best... so... I have had great experiences and horrible experiences with both!

For me it is either. I need to "click" with them. My ob/gyn practice has female and male dr. and I don't care which one sees me.

The midwife practice I go to for Paps and prenatal care is all females, and I used to strongly prefer females when I went to an OB/GYN, as well. I really don't care otherwise, though, but my PCP and our pediatrician are also female...just worked out that way.

Either. When I first started out seeing a gynecologist I preferred female. However, at this point I've had so many different people poke around that area that it doesn't matter. I currently have a male OB/GYN & I absolutely love love him.

Prob 80% of the OB's where I live are male...but I have heard great things about female. Love my male ob!

I feel like they are more gentle and respectful. Women know what the goods are like and I find don't take as much care.

I chose either. I have had good experiences with both. My only bad interaction was with a female while pregnant, therefore I'm almost inclined to choose male.

Either. My first OB/GYN was a male. My current OB is female. During my labor, I had a male OB. As long as they have a good bedside manner, either works for me.

I don't really have a preference but I've found my male doctor is much more gentle than the female!
