I have a male OB, and love him! Like so much so that I cried when I found out he didn't participate with my insurance anymore. I personally prefer male doctors, I feel like they are more caring, compassionate and gentle. At least compared to the few(2) female doctors I have seen.

Female. I didn't realize I had a preference until I selected my current doctor. My first gynecologist was my mom's and she happened to be a woman. Then, I went to a family practice and was paired up with another. We clicked so I always scheduled with her. And when I moved recently I specifically sought out another woman.

I think it all depends on bedside manner. My Ob/Gyn in the city was a female and i loved her. Like I want to drive over an hour back to see her when I get pregnant. My RE was a male, and I was a little nervous about that, but he was also awesome, and I felt totally comfortable with him and even wished he could follow me throughout my pregnancy (but dont tell my ob/gyn that I kinda cheated on her
)
In my new town, I had a male for my pregnancy and miscarriage. He. was. awful. Called my d&C a roto rooter. yeah....I'll be switching to the female doc in the practice.

I used to prefer female because I thought they'd be more understanding since they have the same parts.
But then I met the male docs in the practice I go to, and I find them to be more compassionate than the women. Maybe because they have NO IDEA what we're going through?

Female OB, don't have a preference for GP. No logical reason, just feel more comfortable!

I prefer a female GP. There are men and women in my OBGYN practice and I like all of them.

My OB is male and he's awesome!!! I'm always very serious with him and a huge worrywart and he is always able to talk me down just because of how laidback he is. Love.
I've never had a bad experience with a male doctor. It's all about bedside manner to me.

My preference is female, no question. I've never had a male OB/GYN and wouldn't be opposed to it if necessary. I guess I just figure a female OB/GYN has the same parts and would understand what I'm going through better.

I prefer female for obgyn. I would be ok with a male, though, I've just never had one.

I don't mind, I've nearly always had male doctor's though. The male gyno I had that put in my mirena pre-baby was the best patient care I've had, I was sad when he left the doctor practice!

For GP, Female. I just think I have such a woman to woman relationship with her so I just prefer female.
For OB or RE: I really don't care!
My OB is female, my re is male and the OB who was in charge of checking my progress during labor was a male.
