    @karenbme: Thanks.
I forgot you were 3 dpo ... so much has been going on that I kept thinking that you were 6/7 dpo! πŸ˜‚ Incidentally, I did read a study a few months back (* I think I mentioned it or posted it on that month's board) that stated mild illness in the early days of the TWW could lower one's immunity enough where pregnancy is more probable since the body doesn't want to "attack" the blastocyst. It was a single study and IDK the validity of it's findings (especially since there are so many factors in sickness such as what kind of illness, whether it is bacterial or viral, and symptoms) but it was an interesting theory and gave me a flash of hope.

@Kaohinani: I wish... a time machine would make the TWW so much easier. Interesting about the immune system thing. I have a cold/chest congestion so my immune system is def involved with that. Mostly, though, I want whatever there is to make it into my uterus. I’m pretty sure I Oed on the right this month, which is where both of my EPs have been so I’m a little anxious... 😬

  6. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@karenbme: πŸ€” A time machine would be spectacular! I always have such a long wait from OV to AF (16+ days) that it really is necessity that someone invent one for TTC/TWW! 🀞😁🀣
Getting nerdy up in here πŸ€“: In so far as knowing what side one ovulates from, it has been proven that women will usually "feel" OV (Mittelschmerz) on one side over the other (even if OV-ing from the opposite side) due to pain displacement and the nerves in that area sending signals to the brain (which can not always identify where actual pain is radiating from). I can not remember the name for this phenomenon (perhaps @Yellowbeach or @FuzzyPeaches would know). Even in the months that one feels OV in alternating sides, there is no guarantee that a woman is OVing from the side she feels the discomfort (unless being monitored with u/s, of course). πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ It really is a cool and interesting body phenomenon!πŸ‘

Unrelated - does anyone tone down their exercise in the tww?
@Kaohinani: I know you are super into exercise, do you change it up?

I’m feeling kind of torn. On the one hand, if it wasn’t for spinning/right this journey would have killed me. I sound crazy when I say exercise has saved me but it has, ykwim? And I have given up so much so many times to be disappointed in the end. And sometimes modifying makes me feel like I’m jinxing it and being too positive.

But on the other hand I have only a couple months left to try and I want to give this tww the best shot!

What do you guys do? This could extend to caffeine (I still drink it) and alcohol (still drink that occ too 🀣)

  8. Jessiemuller88

    clementine / 973 posts

@fuzzypeaches: I use to tone down everything in tww: exercise, caffeine, alcohol, but after so many losses and disappointing cycles, I just carry on with my life until the hpt is pink!

@Jessiemuller88: dry to wet tests make it so hard! I still have everything crossed for you! Have you tried a 50mui test yet (like CBD)? I know it's kind of moot now since you'll have your beta results soon.

  12. fuzzypeaches

    clementine / 950 posts

@Kaohinani: that’s actually really interesting - I was looking this up lay might actually bc I have had the WORST o pain this time! I always have the sensation as being from the right side.

@Jessiemuller88: yes me too. I was previously militant about it! I’ve become more relaxed over time but always feel a bit guilty.

  13. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@fuzzypeaches: my doctor told me on exercise if your body is used to it, keep with it until you can't. The bad thing is starting a new workout regiment that you're not used to while trying to grow a baby.

As to anything else that should be limited in pregnancy, I drink coffee until it's pink, I will have a cocktail until it's pink πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ baby isn't sharing a blood supply until later anyways

  14. Jessiemuller88

    clementine / 973 posts

    @Sams Mom: I hope you O soon!

As far as testing goes, I’m done. It’s causing way too much stress and anxiety, and to be honest, I know this isn’t going to end happily.

  15. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Jessiemuller88: I understand. When should you have your betas back?

  16. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@fuzzypeaches: Due to the sedentary (exhaustive, sluggish) effect (* sometimes likened to the tiredness one finds with tryptophan) of P4 on one's system, many women find it difficult to give their 100% during the 2nd half (luteal) of their cycle. E2 makes [most] people more responsive to exercise. In all honesty, I have been training clients but have been unable to participate in any further activity due to the hairline fracture on my foot. I will admit that the extra progesterone from the Crinone is slowing me down a bit. That stated, there is no reason to change up or lessen one's exercise regimen in the second half of her cycle unless advised to do so by a physician (*EX: after a procedure or ART, if you are suffering with female triad syndrome, or if you have too low of a BMI to result in a period or support a pregnancy).

I am so glad that you have found an emotional release through exercise! It helps with depression and is a wonderful way to get an increase in endorphins and natural serotonin.

As for caffeine, one cup a day can be beneficial for keeping a sharp mind (as well as it minimally staves off dementia according to a few recent studies). Alcohol, in moderation, can also be beneficial as red wine is heart-healthy and (the tannins) have minor health benefits... Most women "drink til it is pink." (I have a coffee a day and drink a glass of wine atleast 3x a week no matter where I am in my cycle.). If you "feel" as though reducing or eliminating caffeine, alcohol, or exercise will benefit you in your fertility quest, that is your decision to make. πŸ’š

  17. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Sams Mom: I think the immense amount of stress you have been under is delaying your OV. I'm hoping luck finds you and you can relax a bit so you will OV.

  18. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Kaohinani: I'm also only on CD9, which is ridiculous because I feel like it's been 2 weeks since I got off my period.

  19. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Sams Mom: That is wild! You usually OV anywhere from CD9 to CD15 so it isn't as though you are "late," just, by now you start with the EWCM and your OPKs are increasing in color. You haven't really mentioned any of that lately.

  20. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Kaohinani: not really getting much. I think I had a tinge of ewcm last night... But we had also BD that morning πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ it all runs together.

I know it's my current circumstances, but I doubt care if I get pregnant at this point. It probably won't happen until I see an RE, so why put in all the extra tracking πŸ˜•

  21. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@Sams Mom: Aw, don't think that way. I think the stress is getting to you and you need a mental release. I do believe you feel you need control over some portion of your life and you feel a bit helpless in both your job search and in your fertility. All around frustrating to say the least. I do think that you will kick yourself in the arse if you stop tracking (or trying) altogether. Perhaps, taking a trip to the gym or doing something for yourself (* Get a pedicure, or get your hair done, or buy an amazing book to read as you soak in the tub).

    clementine / 787 posts

@Kaohinani: hello! I just ducked on here on a whim and see that the fun crew on the POAS boards are still at it!

I’m debating joining this board but don’t know if I can handle the stress it will cause me. We aren’t actively trying since it’s only been 8 weeks since we lost our little guy. But I have been waking up with insomnia and crazy dreams (and that is what seems to be my most reliable symptoms early pregnancy) that make me wonder if I could be pregnant already since we aren’t preventing and dtd twice during my expected fertile window. And I can’t even put into words how the possibility makes me feel other than scared sh#!less. I’m guessing I’m wrong and just stress from work has me awake at night.

So I guess I’ll be a cheerleader since I don’t want to calculate when to POAS and become neurotic about it like I have in the past.

So long message of random thoughts done. thanks for letting me share my fear.

@MrsJBeeG: welcome back to the crazy train! I can't imagine what it must be like getting back into TTC after a loss, but I know there are women here that can definitely empathize with you.

We would love for you to join us as a "No POAS Date" participant OR simply as a cheerleader! I do understand your hesitation and fear, though. There is no pressure to test. You know me, I'm still hopeful that you will get your beautiful rainbow 🌈 baby even if you are apprehensive to test. I will mark you as a "cheerleader." Please, get back to me if you decide to be a "No POAS" participant so I may change it. Unload and share fears whenever you wish -- We all enjoy hearing from you.

@Kaohinani: Oh, I know about the reverse side pain... With my first EP, I told the doc at the US that I’d been having bad left side pain, so she looked on the left, and there was nothing, but the was a 1.5in sac in my right tube. And then she explained the whole thing to me. Same with the second one, felt it on the left, saw it on the right. The O pain I had this month was on the left, but for me that tends to mean something’s happening on the right. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

@Jessiemuller88: I’m sorry you feel like this is another EP. I really hope your quant comes back strong today. πŸ€žπŸ€

@fuzzypeaches: I’ve heard the same as others re:exercise, do it as long as you’re comfortable. My doctor actually told me there’s some evidence that vigorous exercise correlates to a better placenta (though I can’t remember how). Personally, I cut back on alcohol and caffeine all month when we’re trying, but I’m also a pretty heavy user of both so cutting back means 1 cup of coffee per day and maybe 5 drinks per week.

@MrsJBeeG: Totally feel you on how scary it is to jump back in after a loss. Try to remember that 1 loss is really common and 2 in a row is pretty uncommon. Happy to have you on here if it gives you an outlet. 🌈🌈

  30. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@karenbme: @FuzzyPeaches: Excercise increases bloodflow throughout the body (including the uterine cavity and, in pregnancy, the placenta). It also oxygenates the blood which promotes a healthier "oxygen rich" lining and placenta which aids in maintaining healthy tissue, productive growth, and will better support a "sticky" pregnancy.

@Karenbeme: Your poor ovaries are sending you mixed messages! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ Left is right and right is left! πŸ˜‚
