@Sams Mom: As I noted in an earlier post from today (to Karenbeme), the fertility meds have messed with my cycles [as well]. I can, absolutely, both empathize and sympathize with you there.
@Karenbeme: Thank you for the reminder that (sometimes) BFPs follow one or more BFNs. I am always so fixated on the fact that I have low HCG numbers that it would take FOREVER for my numbers to double, that I just until AF is [basically] imminent before I test. π€¦ββοΈ As far as an upper intake of synthetic folic acid (or the naturally occurring folate), I have found a couple articles during my searches in the past. I was researching it bc my prenatal includes folate but to aid in the folate loss from having taken Topamax for over 20 years, I was prescribed "folic acid." I wanted to make certain they were completely compatible and I was not consuming "too much of a good thing." 400-800 mcg is compatible and therapeutic for TTC and in pregnancy; that stated, some studies show that there is NO definitive "upper limit" while other studies illustrate that too much can [potentially] cause the loss of pregnancy or increase the chance for a child to develop ASD or to become obese.
Affixed is one of the studies that touts there is no true upper limit as it is a naturally occurring vitamin (B9):

And a couple that state issue with higher levels:

Healthline:

It is a toss up SOOO, I stick with about 800-1000 mcg.

@Kaohinani: I knew I could count on you for all the research
It's interesting that the no limit paper is not specific to pregnancy. I'll probably stop taking the extra and just stick with my prenatal, which has 800 mcg. Thanks!

Stupid frer! I still haven't started af (11 door) so I took a test and it has an iffy line. Y'all, we dtd during my fertile window but I wasn't really tracking (I'm guessing 11 door but could be 9 or 10 I guess) and he pulled out. It is almost impossible to get pregnant on my own, never happened before. Now I have this stupid line and I'm questioning it all!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@LAZB: That appears to be the start of a BFP!!! EEEK! π€
(The second pic is super-clear and it is definitely a pink test line!) OMG, I am hoping for the best!
You HAVE to get betas ... I need to know.
persimmon / 1419 posts
@LAZB: OMG, I'm with Kaohinani, the second photo especially looks like an early positive to me...
I know several other people who tried everything and then as soon as the gave up it happened, probably because they weren't stressing about it. So hopeful for you!!!
pomegranate / 3904 posts
@Kaohinani: @karenbme: I'm so freaked out, I don't know! I took a wondfo and I think it's negative
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@LAZB: If you are just starting to have discernable levels of HCG processed through your urine, a 25-MIU wondfo may not pick it up until a day or 2 (or 3) later. A 6.3-MIU FRER or a 10-MIU IC test would prove more definitive.
In any case, I see a shadow on the Wondfo, but can't tell [with certainty] if it is a positive. The light FRER definitely "looked" BFP. Were it me, I would cut out the urine tests and go for a beta (at my nearest doctor office - RE, OBGYN, PCP, or even at an urgent care center) so I wouldn't be in limbo.
We need @Sams Mom: here with her POAS filter talents!
persimmon / 1419 posts
@LAZB: Wondfos aren't as sensitive as FRER. (I looked this up today because I have a million wondfos at home and only one FRER). Normal wondfos detect 25 mIU/ml compared to 6 for FRER, so if you're just barely getting a line on FRER you probably wouldn't get a wondfo line. I'll be curious to see what happens over the next couple days.

@LAZB: OMG I totally see it! Especially on that second pic! How are you feeling?!
pomegranate / 3904 posts
@Kaohinani: that's true, but stiiiiillllllll lol I can't get betas today, we have a bunch of people coming over shortly a d are having a party bus bring us to a concert!!! Ahhhh! And I can't go tomorrow either because we are going out of town for the weekend and leave early
@karenbme: that's true, this is just crazy
I think I just won't drink anything and take another test right before our guests get here to see what it says
pomegranate / 3904 posts
@bees_knees: totally freaked out. I'd be sooooooo happy, but I can't imagine it's a true positive. And then I'll be freaked about a fourth loss or a baby with health issues
persimmon / 1064 posts
@LAZB: Totally understandable to have all of those fears! FWIW Wondfos always picked up anything before FRERs for me (of course, I haven't used them in a couple years, so it could be different now) Not trying to be a downer, just throwing that out there. Crap I wish you could get betas...
ETA: That FRER look SO positive though!!!!!

@LAZB: holy crap, I take my kid to Bass Pro to see the fish and turtles for an hour and we have a maybe baby!? I see it, it looks pink, I hope everything just works perfectly for you.

Oh my goodness, so much to respond to... @karenbme: good for you for taking a walk and ditching your meeting!
@fuzzypeaches: I felt the same way about testing early. After all this, why don't I just wait until like 16dpo, but of course I can never wait.
@Kaohinani: good for you for having willpower, but know that everyone is anxiously waiting for you to test
@lazb: I see the line! Could it be one of the terrible indents? Does it look pink in person?
@yellowbeach: that's great news from your appointment today!
AFM, I went in for my second beta this morning and was incredibly anxious all day waiting for the results. The nurse called a little while ago... 600-something! (I don't remember the exact number) And my progesterone is around 30 (it was 23 on Tuesday). My thyroid level is slightly high, so I'm going to start on a tiny dose of synthroid. It's not much higher than normal, but high thyroid levels can be linked to miscarriages so they want to be careful because of my history. Next is beta on Monday and then a very early ultrasound next Thursday. I can't imagine that we'd see almost anything at that point, but that's what this RE does.
persimmon / 1419 posts
@Chuckles: That's fantastic!! The ultrasound on Thursday will probably just show a sac and maybe a yolk sac/fetal pole, but probably not much else. Usually they say once the serum level reaches 2000 they should at least be able to see the sac, and you should be way ahead of that at this rate! Sometimes they can see a heartbeat at 6 weeks, but according to my doc they can't reliably see it before 7 so if they don't see it don't stress. So exciting!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@LAZB: So you are going to MAKE ME WAIT?!?!?! π€¦ββοΈ Argh! You are cruel.
π₯Ί You HAVE to go on Monday! I swear, I will explode if I don't know. β

P.S. I think you are just saying it is BFN to dissuade all of us from getting anxious. LOLOLOL. (* Did you have anything to drink which may sway the FRER?)

That is fantastic news!
Thank you for being one of my cheerleaders this cycle. I appreciate it!

Sooooo the place I interviewed with today called for a follow-up interview with their CFO for next Wednesday. I fibbed a little and told them I had received a couple offers after the interview, but haven't settled on one yet, so I'm not sure. He said that he could pencil in an interview for Wednesday and if I decided to accept a different one to just let them know.
They were nice, but it was almost like deja Vu walking into their building. It's very similar to my last office, but slightly bigger. They're employee owned though, so that could be a nice perk, and I'd have less financial burden on me... But it made my stomach hurt a little when I walked in.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: That is such a difficult decision to make! I wish I could get into your head on this one and see which way you are leaning. π€ I will say that I am proud of you for being so "in demand" and for being so d#mn impressive!
persimmon / 1419 posts
@Sams Mom: Congratulations on being so fab that everyone wants to hire you! I have no idea what you should do, but if it were me I would pick the place where I felt Iβd be happier even if it were less money, but I also donβt know your finances and what the money difference means for your family. You spend most of your waking life at work, thereβs no sense working a job that makes you miserable.

Who else is symptom spotting? Iβve had a metallic taste in my mouth and been ravenous all day today after some very suspicious pains last night.
nectarine / 2648 posts
@karenbme: ββοΈ Had some twinges on my left side driving home from work.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@karenbme: I have been ravenous since 2 dpo. I'm giving up on my non-symptoms because all of mine are just symptoms of the Crinone. π€¦ββοΈ If I were having a metallic taste, it would be aura for a seizure (tastes like a mouth full of coins and smells like old blood) which wouldn't be cool. Of course, to others - a metallic taste is a sure sign of a BFP. I am hoping it is for you!
π€
persimmon / 1419 posts
@yellowbeach: Ooh, thatβs a really good sign! π€π€
@Kaohinani: Yeah, ravenous could totally be progesterone for me. I have to say Iβm a little jealous of you having a different enough cycle that you canβt read tea leaves, but the grass is always greener, right?? π€·ββοΈ
nectarine / 2648 posts
Omg - we seriously need a FFWD button! If I have to wait one more day for @kaohinani or anyone else to POAS I might crawl right out of my skin!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@yellowbeach: Hey, hey, hey ... all the pressure can't be on me! Besides, Lazb shared a bevy of sticks (okay, fine 3 but, it was exciting) and Chuckles gave us her great news. π€·ββοΈ
I do agree, though, this TTW has been pretty brutal!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@karenbme: The grass is definitely greener! I look at your symptoms and think, "Girl needs to test soon ... She must so be KU!" Then, Yellowbeach, had her FET and is having twinges (mind you, my "twinges" are just gastrointestinal movement due to gas bubbles), so I think, "Ooooh, something great is happening there!" FuzzyPeaches states she is trigger happy with HPTs and can't wait to test and I think, "I hope she gets her BFP ... and early!" I look at my own symptoms and I am like: "Eh, π€·ββοΈ it is nothing but the stupid P4 ... Why would THIS cycle be any different than the last 37 months when I couldn't conceive? Ugh!" Definitely, the grass looks far greener in everyone else's yard.

Omg so many things!
@LAZB: post your bfn?? I really think that first one is very positive. Like not even very squintery at all! Was the second one with more dilute urine?! What a mind-f
@karenbme: @Kaohinani: this is so weird because my RE was like well in india and Europe they often take up to 5mg folate so you can do that if you want so I have been taking so much! Ah!
