@Kaohinani: This cycle could be different because you tried something different! I keep thinking back to how you said your PA thought you had a great chance this month! Every one of us has all of our fingers and toes and everything crossed for you.

@fuzzypeaches: I also saw that dosage recommended for people with a history of neural tube defects. I mean, a basic tenet of statistics is that correlation does not equal causation. So a lot of the time studies that show โincreased riskโ could be measuring unenumerated cofactors instead of what they purport to measure, so unless the authors state a causal link theyโre just saying these two things track together. And itโs really hard to establish causality because of the ethical issues surrounding research on pregnant subjects, which is the long way of saying nobody really knows. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

What do you ladies think of this? Aunt Flo isnโt due until the middle of next week so I donโt think the decline is her impending arrival, but a second day of declining temperatures is bumming me out... ๐ค

@fuzzypeaches: I was about to reply in full but Karenbeme got to the majority of what I was about to say! ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฃ To expand upon the topic, 5 mg = 5000 mcg which is considerably more than the 400-800 or 1000 mcg American doctors advise. One must consider that naturally occurring folate can be found in eggs, asparagus, leafy greens such as spinach and kale, broccoli, brussel sprouts, legumes, nuts, tomato, meats (liver, too), beets, citrus fruit, seeds, fortified flour/cereals... the list goes on. The American diet is varied and plentiful comparitively to many other countries. In countries with high poverty levels, high chances of famine (due to natural disasters), underproduction of foods, and the implementation of special local or culturally aligned diets; many individuals are susceptible to fall victim to vitamin deficiency such as low B-9 (which results in facial deformities, neural tube defects, and a brittle immune system) so physician's supplement folate in significantly higher doses. Folate (or folic acid) supplementation counters much of the chance for neural tube defects in those who are afforded the extra doses in these communities.
@Karenbme: Thank you for the pep talk about my cycle. As for your chart, I have had 2 day drops nearly to cover just to have it rebound on day 3. It may be an "implantation dip" or could be AF coming early. Did you wear less (clothing or blankets) last night? Were you mouth breathing or did you wake to drink 45 mins or less before temping? Did you wake at a different time than usual? All could be factors to a drop. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

13 dpt, 10/11 dpo -
Temp fell a little bit but chart went triphasic (@Sams Mom was right! ... I think she is a fortune teller!) ... Of course, in the last year, I've had more triphasic charts that weren't BFP than in the last 12+ years tracking! ๐ค๐คฆโโ๏ธ Non-symptoms are pretty standard for the majority or my cycles: Bloated, gas discomfort, sore nipples/breasts.
* Stats for my chart DO NOT include OV day (I OVed CD9) nor for my use of injectables with trigger since there were NO available charts within those perimeters! ๐ค๐คฆโโ๏ธ With my temps and coverline, only 29 charts were presented (70% were pregnancy):

@Kaohinani: Wow, mama, looks like FF thinks youโve got a pretty good shot this month, too! ๐ค๐ค Thanks for chiming in on my chart. I did wake up a little early for me, and was a touch cold, but nothing dramatic so idk. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@karenbme: I was playing around with FF and looked at my Due Date estimator. If I were to conceive THIS cycle (I still feel as though my chances are fairly low because of the past 37 mos), using my LMP, I would have a Dec 1st baby, and using my OV date, we are looking at having a little Thanksgiving turkey (Nov 28th). If we had a Turkey day baby, that would round out the holiday bdays in my immediate family. DH was born on D-day (which is celebratied in spades in HI), I was due on Valentine's Day but was born on Washington's birthday, my DD was my Mother's Day gift, and DS was born on New Year's Eve! I kind of hope, if I conceive, it is a Nov baby ALSO since our family has 9 bdays in December (including DH, his sister [same day, 8 yrs apart!], my DS, my niece, 3 of my aunts [the 3rd, 7th, and one on Christmas!], a cousin, AND my sister's fiance!) ... We are poor by Christmas from buying gifts!!! ๐คฃ

@karenbme: I find my temps to be extremely variable, yet some other people have rock solid charts with little variation. Iโve never been sure what to make of that. But unlikely AF since itโs so early and you seem pretty regular.
@Kaohinani: Today you get a rocket emoji from me bacuse that chart is โup up up and away!โ ๏ธ๐ค
AFM, this morning is 3dp5dt. I still have the faintest if faint lines on my OSOM, and the FRER I could now easily confuse with an indent if I were doing isolated testing. I was hoping to get to stark white on both, but I think this will have to be good enough. Temp recovered some this morning too.

@yellowbeach: Thank you, lady! Your chart looks lovely! I can't wait to see your HPTs begin to darken with a BFP. Perhaps your semi-erratic charts are due to inconsistent waking times? ๐คทโโ๏ธ Definitely a hazzard for temping but, completely understandable considering your occupation! โโ๏ธ My (unmedicated) charts have consistent trends (* a super-dramatic rise post OV, slight fallback rise at 2/3 dpo, a dip or two between 5-10 dpo, many triphasic cycles which are never BFP ๐คฆโโ๏ธ); however, my medicated cycles are variable (* Clomid lengthened my FP, Follistim shortened my LP by 2 days, and only God knows what will happen with the extra progesterone!!! ๐ค). With that in mind, perhaps yours are more erratic due to the fertility meds? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
persimmon / 1419 posts
@Kaohinani: Aww, thatโs cool that youโre all holiday babies! I totally feel you on the crowded birthdays, too. Of my 7 nieces and nephews 5 are late Sept-early Oct. and it can be exhausting in more ways than one. Thankfully we have a little more time before Christmas
@yellowbeach: glad that your tests are back to whitish. Looking back my temp has been pretty variable, too. Iโve also had two other big dips this cycle that Iโve discarded. Iโm still feeling good about our chances this month and got a bfp on the totally unscientific peanut butter test this morning, so thereโs that. ๐คฃ
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@karenbme: Peanut butter test?!?!? ๐ฅ I am intrigued. (PB makes me gag so IDK if I could get on board with any unscientific BFP testing utilizing it. ๐คฃ)

@Sams Mom: @Paranundrum: @FuzzyPeaches: @Bees_knees: @JennyLayneAZ:
How are you ladies this morning (evening for Paranundrum)?
persimmon / 1419 posts
@Kaohinani: Haha. One of my first signs has always been a terrible after taste with peanut butter. Thereโs actually a really funny story that goes with it... The first time I got pg was right around DHโs birthday, and I left work early on the day to make a chocolate peanut butter tart for him. But when I was done I stuck my finger in the bowl that had the peanut butter mix in it to taste test (as one does) and it had a terrible after taste. So I tasted the peanut butter from the jar and it also tasted off. I felt terrible thinking I had made DH a birthday dessert with rotten peanut butter. So like 20 minutes later DH came home and I told him the whole thing, โI think the peanut butter turned... We can go buy a cake if you want...โ and he was just like, โwhat are you talking about I had peanut butter toast for breakfast and it was fine.โ The day before I had gotten a bfn so I wasnโt even thinking pregnancy, but two days later I got a bfp. And he got a whole chocolate peanut butter tart to himself for his bday. ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ

@karenbme: Wow, what an awesome story! I wish I had a cool, sentimental story about why PB makes me gag, but I don't. Every LP, if my progesterone is high, I start gagging at smells. The worst offenders: sweat, pb, ranch dressing, and uncooked red meat. Ironically, when I was pregnant with my son, I HAD to have a PB-banana smoothie DAILY and, with DD, I craved carrots dipped in Hidden Valley Ranch. Perhaps, I overdid those foods (*too much of a good thing?) while pregnant so they no longer appeal and cause an adverse reaction? ๐ค I have no clue.
persimmon / 1419 posts
@Kaohinani: I know, itโs like straight out of a rom-com. ๐คฃ to overdoing foods while pregnant potentially creating an aversion later. Itโs so crazy to me how much changes about your body even this early...

@Kaohinani: your chart looks amazing! Even obvious to a non charter like me!

@LAZB: ERMAGOD the bottom one is ~definitely~ pink! So excited for you!!! Fingers crossed youโve got a sticky one!!
pomegranate / 3904 posts
@karenbme: definitely pink, but I'm still not convinced lol. Thanks for being positive though!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@LAZB: Thank you ... My chart looks decent but IDK if it is signaling a BFP or just high P4? (* So frustrating)
As for you - Those are pink-tinted and the bottom one looks darker than yesterday's! I really want to call it BFP ... I wish you were able to get betas to verify!

@LAZB: sending you all my fingers crossed!! Are you going to test with anything else today?
pomegranate / 3904 posts
@Kaohinani: I'm thinking high progesterone due to pregnancy! And thanks, I wish I had time! We are about to leave though
@bhbee: thanks! And probably, just because I'm an addict lol

Ok, so March 1st is the top opk here, and it was getting close to positive so I think it would have been positive March 2 so ovulation on March 3. I guess it could have been positive later so later ovulation, and I sure wish I kept better track now!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@LAZB: That is what I thought with the long delay in between... that and your BFP was on the Dec board. I was more concerned that you were on CD117 according to your March date. Would it be the time span between tracking?
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@LAZB: bottom one is definitely pink!
@Kaohinani: I told you so I'm thinking pregnant too since your eggs had the boost to mature this month.
@karenbme: @yellowbeach: it might be more helpful with yellowbeach's shift work, but could help smooth your charts out too. In the FAM BC world, "night temping" is an accepted. (I'll come back with a link or a screen shot here in a minute). Or it might not work ๐คทโโ๏ธ
AFM my CM switched to non fertile yesterday. I know your temp shift can occur up to 3 days after peak... But I'm confused.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: WTH, lady ... What is going on with your chart?!?! Perhaps, you surged but never OVed? Maybe there is a chance an actual OV will occur soon even with the change in CM? ๐ค

I was wondering if anyone tracks their cycle using cervical placement? ๐ค
I understand every woman has a different or unique cerv plcmnt throughout her cycle and, even then, it can vary from cycle to cycle but, I am confused by my current placement: Low, soft, closed.
I usually have a high (or medium), hard, and closed cervix by 10/11 dpo. Do you think the extra progesterone is changing the game and messing with me?
Nevermind- I found some info. ๐ค Also, progesterone creams can affect cervical integrity. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ

Test with writing is from my pregnancy with DS2, but I put it next to the one for today to see if I actually saw something on the wondfo or if I have line eye. I still can't decide, thoughts?
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@LAZB: IDK. Placing them next to each other is causing ME line-eye! Lol.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@LAZB: I can't decide ๐คฆโโ๏ธ even tweaking them I get confused.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Kaohinani: I haven't made it that far into my crazed tracking. BUT the fact it's soft is a good sign from what I understand, but usually it would be high and soft in pregnancy. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: Thanks for getting back to me on that! I started paying attention to the placement about 7 mos ago so, I am in no way a pro at it!
I found some info on a site and confirmed it with two other sources. (* I posted my findings on the post where I asked for help.)
