We're going to a wedding in about 3 weeks (their colors are taupe and black, BM dresses are very 1950s.) All the maternity dresses I can find are low cut, or florescent, or way too long (as in pooled at least 6 inches on the floor, and my sewing machine is kaput,) or see-through. Can anyone suggest a good place to buy a maternity dress to wear to a wedding?

I had a lot of trouble with this... ended up with a few rather casual dresses from Pea in the Pod. Ended up with a simple black dress with a ruffle at the bottom of the knee-length skirt and dressing it up with really fancy jewelry and shoes.

I found a cute dress at Target, but I think they are pretty hit or miss. Sometimes I felt like all they had were maternity workout clothes! I also found a cute dress at Motherhood Maternity, which I think is Pea in the Pod's cheaper sister store.

I only shopped consignment stores.... but I found that a lot of dresses were low cut. I would just layer, you could put a white tank under it, or one that is lacy to make it fancier.

Kohls! This is the dress I bought for my SILs wedding this month. It's actually really flattering.
If you search maternity dress on their website, there are some more options that are neutral in color and not low cut.

I think the Gap usually has some pretty ones. They are short, though. I'm not sure how fancy the wedding is, but if it's a cocktailish afternoon wedding, they would work.

It was really simple and not the best quality but for one night and with the right accessories it worked.

Thanks all! Will be checking out Gap, Motherhood, and Target again... Hadn't yet seend if our Gap has maternity clothes, and I don't think I've set foot in Old Navy.
Oh golly, I'm going into The Gap AFTER I know the gender??? This is muy, muy dangerous! (I've been reading Skippyjon Jones aloud.)

Motherhood actually had a black one with a lace back. Knee length, bordering on low cut but not too bad, not see-through, and really rather elegant.
