@Rainbow Sprinkles: I totally just bought some because I have this really form fitting Isabella Oliver dress and underwear always gives me a muffin top and really ugly butt panty lines, ha! I didn't want it super tight or anything, so I bought it in a "4" so it smooths and shapes without making me feel sausagey. I went off my height and weight chart pre-pregnancy, and i'm 5'11" and at the low end of the weight for this size, so i bought true to size. It's not super tight in the legs either, but stays down and doesn't give me lines.

And they both would have been totally fine BUT the Assets one didn't roll down so much in the back (and i'm tall so maybe it's just a me issue) but the Slim Me brand cut below my bra strap a few inches and gave me sort of an unpleasant bra bulge back there. It just slipped too low for me. Both were very comfortable materials and gave me just enough support and shaped out my lower belly better (i have one of those really lovely flaps of skin at the very base of my bump from my first pregnancy that gives it a sort of squared off shape that i am self conscious about). I wore the Assets one to work one day and had ZERO issues with it rolling down or anything.

Long story short, I kept the Assets one and am really happy with it.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: yes it's smoothing! It takes away that awkward love handle lump next to the belly

I loved maternity Spanx. Made everything look smoother without smashing the bump and I felt like it supported my belly slightly.

I just wore the Belevation Mid-Thigh PettiPant yesterday for the first time and loved it! It was so comfortable and didn't ride up. The thing is, if you're looking for something to really suck you in tight, this isn't the one for you. It definitely smoothed me out but wasn't too tight at all. I'm going to be ordering more.

@Anagram: The Assets doesn't give me bra bulge at all, and my torso's probably longer than yours!

@regberadaisy: I was a little worried about this dress in particular, since it's lace and looks pretty "bridal", but she loved it--and her dress has no lace at all, so it won't look like hers or anything. There are 5 bridesmaids and 3 are wearing ivory and 2 of us champagne.
