Hi, I’m currently 14 weeks and need to start wearing maternity pants, but need to be able to dress up for work. I’ve outgrown even my loosest suit pants. I have dresses that are work appropriate and still fit, but in general prefer pants. I live in a relatively small town with few options for maternity wear, so I’m looking for recs for gray or black belly friendly suit pants that I can buy online. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try kohls....I had good luck there with staples of black, grey, brown pants a couple years ago.

@karenbme: I got my slacks from a pea in the pod. Expensive but great quality and they’ve lasted for years! Full disclosure, my son is 2 and I still wear them....

@karenbme: is kohls exorbitantly expensive online in Canada? I know some stores are. I shopped entirely online for maternity clothes from kohls....

I also had good luck with A Pea in the Pod for pants for work. They fit the best for the longest for me, which was helpful since they were more expensive.
I had a couple pairs from Gap too that worked well at first, but they didn't fit as comfortably into the third trimester for me.

@meadow: It’s not a cost thing (I actually live in the US, Montreal is just the closest city) but at least with what Kohl’s stocks here the quality tends to be hit or miss. Might be better online, but hard to tell, and I’m not good at returning things I buy online, which I know is on me.

not sure what your budget is, but i was given a pair of work pants from seraphine that are super nice. pea in the pod also carries a brand called isabella oliver that i have used for my more formal work stuff (though mostly dresses/tops).
sorry i missed this Q on the due date board! i also have a great pair that i have worn daily through two pregnancies that i got from the maternity stitch fix box. i just keep forgetting to get them out of storage and check the brand!

I got mine from JCPenny online a few years ago. Motherhood Maternity/Pea in a Pod had some good things too!
Also, I used Stitch fix when I was preggo for a wedding I went to when I was 7mo along. They sent some great things that I didn't see online. Highly recommend!

In my first pregnancy I got some elastic top work pants from Kohl’s. I am doing it again this time. I don’t know if it will take me all the way to the end this time. They were in the regular clothes section, not maternity.

I got all of mine from the Gap. The demi band was great for early pregnancy and post partum. I wore them to work when I first went back too.
I would only buy them on sale though! The list price is way too much.

@nwm: I have been really curious about Seraphine, they’ve been serving me instagram ads like crazy,m. Good to know it’s quality. I’m definitely going to order a red dress they’ve been selling super hard to me, and probably some pants.

@karenbme: for stitch fix I was very specific with my descriptions, preferences, and sizes ( I think even sent them measurements) they sent 4 dresses, none of which I would have looked twice at in a store. I ended up keeping 3 of them, and because I worked in a formal office, I wore them to work for the rest of my pregnancy!
