@septca: REALLY?!?!?!? Are you sure? It looks so light to me!
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@simplyfelicity: Haha. The lightness of the lines doesn't matter, as long as the test is as dark/darker than the control.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@septca: @theotherstark: Wait, are you guys switching the control and test line? I in NO WAY mean to insult your intelligence, I am just floored you guys think it is positive.

So I tested today at 10 dpo (several times) - !
Excited but a little panicky. It's much easier to abstractly imagine 2 LOs close in age than to actually be faced with it, haha!! A little emotional - worried about my DD, worried about how I can love another as much as her! Maybe not a super glamorous reaction, but it's the truth!
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@simplyfelicity: I think it does look positive when you first look, but if I really sat and compared (which I'm sure you did), the test line *does* look lighter. You are super duper close though!

@sorrycharlie: Oh my goodnesss!!!!!!!!!!!! eeekkkkkk!!!! Congrats!!!!
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@simplyfelicity: I was looking at it correctly. For OPKs, you want *any part* of the test line to be as dark as/darker than the control line. That's +. And even if you have doubts, it's going to be really, really obviously + later today.
pomegranate / 3045 posts
@sorrycharlie: Congratulations!!
@simplyfelicity: Ditto to what @septca: said - the bottom of the test line is as dark as the control

@sorrycharlie: yay another jan 2015 mama! Congrats!!! And I hear you on the reality of two LOs close in age sinking in...

@sorrycharlie: Ahhh I am seriously so excited for you!! I'm tempted to test tomorrow at 10dpo, partly because of symptoms (damn symptom spotting!!) and partly because I have a specialist appointment on Friday about all the issues I've had in the past 10 months of ttc and I'd really like to cancel it if I am pg. I'm scared though in case it's negative. But so so happy for you, and O! She's going to be an amazing big sister

Is it okay if I peek my head in here? Sort of started trying for #2. Not into TTC 100%, but will still be disappointed with a BFN/want someone to tell if BFP. I posted this on the June thread, but then realized I should maybe be here?
Cycle day: No clue
Cycle #: Not really counting yet!
Ovulation & POAS dates: No clue really. Here's the TMI story, DH and I went to Vegas 4/28-5/1 and could have made a baby during that timeframe. My last AF was around LO's birthday of 4/18. I could have ovulated in Vegas, or a few days before (based on CM). If I don't get AF by May 21 I will POAS (eek).
Baby #: 2 (took 9 months of TTC for baby #1, who is now a year old)
Your game plan this month: Waiting to see if I get AF, my cycles are still not entirely regular postpartum and I really don't track them yet either (I temped, tracked CM, did Fertility Friend my first time around).
Chart link: None for now!

@simplyfelicity: I think that's a pos OPK too! Or if not, it's about to be. Woo hoo! Things are working! Hope your timing is easy this month looks like you'll be in the TWW imminently!
@sorrycharlie: congratulations!! xx

Speaking of symptom spotting, since some of you are doing it too, has anyone ever had crazy burning in lower abdomen/uterus area before BFP or AF? It's not pain/cramping, but like someone rubbed icy hot on the inside! I have only ever had this once before in my life, and that was last month a few days before first BFP. Anyway, it has been on fire yesterday and today, like feels so warm as though I have a heating pad on it. Am I crazy!?
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@septca: @theotherstark: Thanks, ladies! I seriously wasn't trying to insult anyone's intelligence as you are both much more knowledgeable than I am in these things. I was just surprised.
nectarine / 2994 posts
@Gigi2: Nope not crazy! I really hope it means a bfp for you! I had crazy symptoms with lo 1 - mainly dizziness 24/7 (the room felt like it was spinning all day long) and I felt like I had zero energy. Plus cramping, more bms then usual. Oh and 2 days before my bfp I went to the doctor because my mouth was suddenly full of ulcers (as in like 7 popped up within an hour) the doctor said it was just viral. The ulcers were gone by that night. Then a bfp 2 days later.

I just wanted to throw in a quick update. Please let me know if I missed anything!
@Anya: you are in my prayers! Please let me know if you would like to take a break and I can update for the rest of the month or whenever you feel is best. I pray surgery goes smoothly and your recovery is quick.

@sorrycharlie: ahhh! I had a feeling things would happen fast for you! Have a happy healthy 9 months. You are gonna do great. You have 9 months to prepare. By the end you'll be so so ready! What's the EDD?
@simplyfelicity: go get it on girl!

@tequiero21: Hahaha! Next month! I only did an opk because fertility friend was giving me a weird fertile window.

@sorrycharlie: congrats!!! I know what u mean about liking the idea of kids close in age but scary, really!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
So I took another OPK...and I think if the other one was positive, this one most definitely is not. Maybe I just caught the end of my LH surge with the one from 11:30. This is from 3pm-ish. I will BD today just in case.

@Anya: I'm so sorry sending you hugs.
@MrsMccarthy: thank you! by LMP it says 1/26, by Ovulation 1/24! So somewhere around there! I'm mainly panicking about not delivering this kid on the floor in my living room..January in RI is not a nice time! lol.
@simplyfelicity: I would def dtd today to be safe - good luck!!!
thank you everyone!!

It's awfully quiet in here this morning!
@Gigi2: how are you? Is that burning sensation happening? Anxious to hear if you POAS today!
persimmon / 1096 posts
@sorrycharlie: Congratulations!!! So excited for you And I was the same way with my reaction - LO will be 22 months, and after I got my BFP, all my warm and fuzzy thoughts about them being close in age were suddenly matched with fears about how, logistically, I am going to handle a pair of littles. We can do it, though!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@Gigi2: My fingers are super super crossed for you! (I do know that even if it isn't this cycle, it will be very soon!)
cherry / 132 posts
Hi everyone! Just checking in - thanks so much for the well-wishes. Today's my POAS day, and even though yesterday I said I'd wait an extra day, I tested this morning and BFN... No more burning abdomen either! But also no AF signs at all. So, I guess I will just continue waiting! I will get an answer by way of AF or BFP (I hope I hope I hope...) soon haha. Wishing the rest of you lots of luck!
