Before having my LO I worked as a therapist, and love shows about my profession. I like In Session, the Sopranos, etc that feature therapy. Also, I used to work with sex offenders, and I love law and order svu, but often get annoyed by the unrealistic parts.
I also enjoy "diagnosing" tv and movie characters

my DH is a software programmer, so he always has a giggle when people "hack" and stuff on tv shows. he says the stuff they say and what is shown on their computer screen makes no sense at all

I don't mind lawyer shows at all! I litigate and am almost always called counsel - by the Court officers/employees, Judge, you name it. If anything, it would be Miss/Ms., NOT Mrs. ever.

I'm a lawyer and watch "Law & Order SVU" and "Suits" and love both despite finding the court scenes totally unrealistic. Rick Hoffman as Louis Litt is too hilarious not to like. I agree with @LindsayInNY: that most people call us "Counselor" or "Ms." Calling me "Mrs." is totally offensive and I'm not even someone that usually gets offended by stuff like that. DH is a cop and still likes cop shows!

there's one line from a CSI episode that DH and his friends still love making fun of. something about using visual basic to write a GUI to track an IP address -__-

I'm a nurse and loooove watching medical shows - partly because I love my job, but mostly because they're so unrealistic! The best is Greys Anatomy where the doctors do everything like IVs, turning patients, giving meds, etc.

I'm a nurse but I don't watch medical shows - only untold stories of the er on tlc.

My ex used to be a cop and he would come home and watch shows like COPS all evening. It drove me crazy, because I felt like my whole life was surrounded by the profession.

(My ex was a terrible cop, btw...got fired from it. Maybe that's why I didn't appreciate it 24/7)

I'm not in any of those professions, but I do work in broadcast journalism and both love and laugh at The Newsroom. Some parts of it are so true to reality, and some are just ridiculous! I enjoy watching it

@pui: My favorite TV hacker is Nolan Ross from Revenge. I love that show and am dying to watch last night's season finale. I may get up super early tomorrow morning to watch it.

@mrs. 64: I agree that a fake law license seems unrealistic. But that Utah doctor who was recently found guilty of murdering his wife had some sort of fake law license I think. So I believe it can happen!

@Penny Lane: I think that "Mrs." basically sounds like "wife" to me. I like that almost everywhere else in my life because I'm so proud to be my husband's wife. But in my work persona, I do not want to be referred to as someone's wife. Its basically condescending. Although, I will accept being called "miss" anytime.

@Sapphiresun: How about when TV cops handle evidence with their bare hands. Or put evidence in plastic bags? Or have random people walking amongst the crime scene!?!?!?

Ditto to @LindsayInNY: & @MrsMcD:. I love watching SVU, The Closer, Criminal Minds and shows of that nature, but I definitely roll my eyes.

And I agree with all the ladies on the Mrs. thing. I've never once heard it in court, and I think that since there are still relatively few female attorneys in my area, the judges and other attorneys are very careful to use the proper titles when addressing me.

@Espion: oh I know, and forget nurses or nursing aides. I find it hilarious that the docs do blood draws and operate imaging equipment!

I'm a lawyer and hate most lawyer shoes! I can't think of any lawyer shows that I've ever liked.

And judges in MA will call you Ms or Mr. But never Mrs.

I'm a therapist and I HATE watching shows/movies about psychology. Always so unrealistic and the therapist is always doing some dodgy unethical thing or saying, how does that make you feel. Noooooooooooo.

Me!!! I'm a lawyer, and I love love love love it ALL!! I especially like Locked Up and Gangster Land shows. I worked at the DA's office in Sex Crimes and Domestic Violence Unit, so it's interesting to see the show profile the conditions of the prisons that contain many inmates serving time for sexual assaults and murder. It's the what happens after I get up from the prosecutor's table. I remember my first case where the defendant got 20 years. He was 18.

Now, I'm no longer in criminal law, and it breaks my heart. This is my last link to the criminal law world. However, I am always called Mrs. ______ or Counsel. It's not Miss/Ms., and a lot of time the communication occurs over email so they don't even know if I'm married or not. It's annoying how formal it is. However, Counsel calls everyone by their first names, including each other. I tell my clients, please it's just my first name! It got so awkward once, I told one of my clients, I'm not even 30, call me Mrs. once I'm over 45! Just call me by my first name!!! They're getting better, but on a whole it's still Mrs.____. Sometimes, I say something snarky like Mrs. ______ is my Mom (I kept my maiden name)!
