Awwww... I missed a concert, well 72 hour worship service, out of town b/c of my edd. Really I just didn't want to be in the car that long.. I'm sure I could've gone had I really wanted. I was also having a homebirth though so being far from the hospital wasn't an issue. Sorry you're having to miss something like that. ((hugs))

I would be so sad too! But what matters is that your family and especially your sister understand.

I knew my little sister would be getting engaged in roughly the same time frame that I'd be getting pregnant, so we (DH and I) planned to avoid 8-9 months before if they set a date before I was pregnant. But it sounds like in your case, they both happened at once and there was just nothing to be done. They are getting married about 7 months after LO is due now.

On the plus side, I feel like your new BIL will feel like a "real" uncle, because he will have been an uncle before baby was born, if that makes sense

Awww! I'd be really upset about it too. I'm sure your sister understands and that's all that matters! I know it's really far and not advisable or ideal, but is the drive there and the destination remote or generally well populated? I know when we would go to our vacation home towards the end of pregnancy, even my doctor was not too concerned because there are hospitals at the destination and along the way. I mean, it's something I would consider just for my sister's wedding.

FWIW, I have a friend whose doctor OK ed her to fly to Florida at 36ish weeks so she could go to the national championship game. Seems that driving would be even safer, because then you could stop! And, its for a much better cause
