Has anyone taken Mommy & Me Ballet or dance classes? The course description said ballet shoes required, so I bought them for K obviously. Then I just realized maybe I'm supposed to have them too? Or maybe socks would be fine? Class starts tomorrow but I'm ordering some now. Just wondering.
And as an additional question if you've done these classes, did you just wear workout clothes? No way am I showing up in a leotard. lol

You can just wear some comfy clothes and socks. I haven't seen any moms with leotards, tutus or slippers. Have fun!

@shopaholic: Only the kids have to wear ballet shoes. Moms don't participate. They're just there in case kids have meltdowns or need help getting through the class.
I usually wore flip flops or ballet flats.

Our nanny goes with my daughter to ballet class and she just wears socks.

@shopaholic: we started last month and all mom's wear workout clothes and socks!
Eta: moms actually do participate in the class we take.

I would probably buy matching leotards and tutus for zuma and I. In fact, now I need to find a mommy and me class around here!

I did one, and the moms did participate. I just wore workout clothes and socks. It was SUPER fun!

I was a ballerina even as a young adult. @anonysquire: I'm with you matching outfits. LOL not really, but definitely ballet shoes.

UPDATE: Just went to the class and it was super cute! The moms did have to participate and basically lead the tots the entire class. Everyone just kept their regular shoes on, so I didn't even need the socks I brought. Even the teach wore "ballet-like" indoor slippers. Not real ballet shoes.

@shopaholic: I loved the adorable pictures of K and classmates! H loves music and dance so I located a toddlers dance class for H and she starts next month at 18 months.
