I did weekly photos and walled you my IG. I just took them mostly while we were out and the lighting was good. I also took several on our bed- the lighting is great in our bedroom and I have a neutral headboard and bedding. I think a stuffed animal is good for measure. You could get a white throw for your bed and take them from the top at first and straight on after he is sitting- then it captures development a little bit too.

I got a set of stickers from etsy and it had a newborn, weeks 1, 2, & 3, and then monthly stickers. I dressed him in a white onesie and put the sticker on and sat him on our recliner starting at two months.

We did weekly photos until she hit 6 months, then monthly. She lays on a white blanket next to her stuffed wooly mammoth.

I took monthly pics with baby sitting in the rocker in his room. With LO1, just in a onesie and with LO2 with monthly stickers we got as hand me downs and a stuffed animal for scale. I always try to get one decent full body shot and one close up of their face.

If you are moving I am guessing you will have some furniture that is similar from the nursery or your room?

Also sometimes I thought it was a pain to do but it was great to have the photos as decoration at the 1 year old birthday and I love having them to look back on. So even if the first one is a little different I think it is still worth it for you to do!

I planned to do a consistent background and then forgot, so I've changed up the blanket each time instead. Since we don't prop her up sitting she's been laying down in all of them so far (I've done through 9 months). She might start sitting on her own before a year, might not. We'll see. (These are just what I have on my phone. I take actual pictures with a camera too!) (ETA- I got much better shots for her 8mo on the camera. She was totally over it by the time I pulled my phone out! She wound up pulling off her sticker and trying to eat it. )

We are. It's getting more and more challenging to get her to lay down. So I recommend a sitting position. Here's ours!

Birth and one month were inconsistent with the rest. I tried to do them in our glider with a stuffed animal each month. We used the stickers (bought from etsy).

We put them on a blanket each month with a blank chalkboard and added text in Photoshop.

@avivoca: oh my goodness - I can't believe she was this little! And that quilt is beautiful!

@pregnantbee: I LOVE looking back on these pics. We had so much fun (and puke) watching her in the early days. Not so fun wrangling her to sit still for the later months!

I only have these three on my phone. We used the toy for scale in all of them. This is 1, 3, and 4 months.

I'm doing month stickers on a white onesie with LO laying down on a dream blanket, next to a stuffed kitty that she'll eventually hold. The stickers run through a rainbow (2 months is red-orange).

I tried to get monthly pictures in our recliner, draped with a blanket with DS's name knitted in every month. They got harder to take as he got older because he didn't stay still and switched to putting the blanket on the floor, but almost all of them still go well together. And we lived in 3 different houses in his first year.

Those laundry basket pictures are so cute, though!

@sleepybear: We also started on our glider, but once DS hit 8 months, he was so active, that I gave up on the consistency factor! The final 4 months I just used my favorite monthly picture.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: that would be an amazing idea!! You can change the color of the backdrop (bed sheet, table cloth, blanket) to "match"'the superhero. That would be so cute

I did! I tried to take them on the glider with the same set up, but as she got older it got more difficult so I kinda gave up on it. So while I don't have a uniform set of pictures where you can really see her grow, all the pictures pretty accurately depict the stage she's at!
