50 percent of the time my son wakes at 5 a.m. for the day (the other 50 percent of the time he gets up at 6). He has a pretty strict 7 pm bedtime and I can't figure what gets him to wake earlier. I can't put him down earlier because of my work schedule. He still gets up once a night for a feeding - it seems that when he gets up closer to 2 he gets up earlier. When he wakes at 3 for his feeding he'll sleep later. When he sleeps straight through he sleeps 7-5 (give or take a few minutes).

He doesn't have a set nap schedule because of his varying wake time....and also he is pretty much a 30 minute napper (with the occasional 45 minute nap or binge nap when he is sick).

He's 5.5 months. He's been doing this almost a month.

Has anyone tried leaving baby in crib until a later wake up time? He wakes up happy and cooing and only grumbles after awhile....or if he hasn't eaten in awhile. I'll feed him and sometimes he doesn't even get drowsy again so there's basically no chance of getting him back to sleep. Am I stuck with this early wake time?
