How old is your LO and how long are they awake between morning wake up and their first nap?
Miss A is almost six months old and used to go back to bed about 1.5 hours after her morning wake up but lately won't go back down for a nap until she's been up for over 2.5 hours! Does this sound normal or should I keep trying to put her down after 1.5 hours?

C is almost 1 and it's normally 2-2.5 hours. It was 1.5-2 hours for a LONG time though.

@zippylef: thanks, this is a relatively new thing for us, we had been working on a 1.5-2 hour wake time for the last couple of months which worked out to be three naps a day so I'm wondering if A might be transitioning down to two nap maybe?

LO is 10 months, and her morning awake time depends on how long she slept the night before. If she slept 11 hours, she goes down after 2.5-3 hours. If she slept 12+ hours she only takes one nap and goes down after 3.5-4 hours. At 6 months she was going down 1.5-2 hours after waking.

@Kemma: She's till on 3 naps? Yeah, then it's totally possibly she's trying to go to 2 naps. C is still on 2 naps.

@zippylef: I'm thinking that's what it is, especially when I know that she can self soothe and put herself to sleep if we hit the right timeframe.
As my Mother told me I'm never going to win a battle against a baby so it might be time to adjust our routine to account for the longer wake time.

@stlginkgo: @cheesetomywhine: my Mother is a very practical and wise woman - I heart my Mum! And she's also completely right, when I get frustrated with Baby, it's usually over something I have no control over and should just roll with!
Looks like the longer awake time could be here to stay, LO has now been napping for two hours!!
