I just opened up this thread and am so sorry to hear about your baby! Pls let me know if you need anything. I'm local and also worked with liver transplant patients in the past (adults however, not kids). Hope your baby starts to improve very soon!

His numbers are mostly worse today. He's still fighting it but I'm scared he's losing the fight. He's on the transplant list, if it comes to that. I still can't believe my sweet boy is in this situation, he was so healthy prior to this

Things seem to be getting bad fast. He's on new meds everyday, usually multiple times a day. He's retaining a lot of fluid and his good moods seem to be gone. Hes having a biopsy tomorrow which is suposed to answer some questions about how much and what type of damage is done to his liver.
I'm trying to come to terms with my little baby having a liver transplant. I start the work up tomorrow to see if I can be a living donor. I know that either a repaired liver or a donated liver will make all the difference but either way he's headed for weeks and weeks of pain and discomfort.
Despite the fact I'm doing everything I can possibly do and having no way to know this was coming, I feel so responsible. Every thing I did and I do I'm second guessing, like if I can just do it right, he will get better. And even though I know me sleeping is good for him, the moment I lay down every future hope I had for him seems impossible. I just realized today that he will spend his first Christmas in the hospital most likely; I was so excited to experience the holidays with my baby and my family. Now I don't know if any of my hopes will materialize. This is so hard.

I'm so sorry the news doesn't seem to be getting any better. There are no adequate words right now but I just wanted you to know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many right now.
