She is constantly begging for food. She wakes us up in the early morning with her loud meows. If the bedroom door is closed, she will sometimes head butt it! She blocks my computer monitor/keyboard throughout the day while i'm working begging for food. She's overweight so she can't eat any more.
Do you have a cat that loves eating like mine does? (She's almost 14)

My cats do this for attention, it drives me crazy! They don't have dietary restrictions and always have food in their bowl, but I think they like to bother us at 4am for fun. My oldest cat will meow and beg forever until we give her treats and turn the bathroom sink on so the princess can drink out of there. They are worse than my kids sometimes

What kind of food does she get? One with a high protein content could fill her up more, as well as wet food, which is more filling.

Yes, I have three cats and they definitely love to wake us up. Well, me -- DH sleeps like a rock, haha. They'll start running around and playing on the bed in the middle of the night so I'll shut them out. But then one will just bang on the door. Forever. So I have to let him back in and leave the other two out.

We give our dog low-sodium green beans to help him not be a psycho path about food. It helps TONS! Wonder if there is an equivalent for cats?

@Mrs. Bee: gotcha! That's what our cats eat too! They split a can at night and each get a quarter cup of dry "core wellness" in the morning.
Cat grass (I believe its a wheatgrass "plant") could be helpful maybe? Cats like to munch on it but it wouldn't make them gain weight.

@hotchildinthecity: we do give her cat grass occasionally. it makes her throw up or rather cough up hairballs. but good idea... maybe i should always keep it around. it tends to die on my pretty quick. i have a black thumb.

ugh, my dog does this. makes me insane. he's also on a diet and has been doing fine on it, but the last few weeks he will. not. stop.

@Mrs. Bee: Cats are the worst!! Our cat will chew on the cabinet where his food is. Because, that solves everything!
