How scary. I have no experience but I hope everything turns out well for your friend. When is she due?

@pmrlady: Sorry, no experience. Did they think the heart was normal otherwise? FX baby is healthy and your friend is not too stressed!

@pmrlady: I am pregnant with a boy who has a heart defect. Not a pulmonary valve issue, but likely something wrong with his aorta, as the anatomy scans show his right ventricle is dilated and his left is small (unfortunately we still can't tell exactly what is wrong from the 3 fetal echos I've had). We are looking at potentially 3 surgeries and plenty of NICU time after he is born, but again, we don't know exactly what yet. I am due December 19, so in a similar time frame as your friend.

Sorry your friend is going through this too! It is definitely scary, but for me, planning as much as possible has really helped me cope. Even with the worst heart defects, surgeries and treatments have come a long way in the past 10-20 years, so there are many reasons to still have hope and believe that the baby can still lead a relatively normal life.
