I'm not really sure what to say right now... just needed some support/prayers/good vibes. My grandma has been through so much and is the strongest woman I have met, next to my great grandmother. She lives all the way in FL, so unfortunately, I only get to see her about once a year. She is head over heels for DD, even though she's only seen her a few times.
She has survived a stroke, double knee replacement, her only son dying of cancer (my uncle) ... it's just not fair. The only hope I'm clinging to right now is that they caught it early. She had a mammogram 6 months ago and they didn't see it, so hopefully this means she'll be able to fight it.
Dunno... just sad and overwhelmed right now... thanks for letting me vent. Has anyone else had someone close with breast cancer? I'd love to hear your experiences.
My mom has told me so often that the biggest thing she has learned in her job is that cancer is not a death sentence. She has seen so many do very, very well. And the strength and courage of these women and their families is beautiful to watch. I pray that your grandma can have the love and support she needs to be upbeat, hopeful, and BEAT THIS. Hang in there, lady. Let me know if you ever need to talk!
