Yes. And she has been bugging us for A grandchild since we moved in together (ie, months after my husband finished college and I still had 2+ years to go!). Five years later, here we are. We took our sweet time and I'm not sad for one second. We were quite vocal about only having 1 when I was pregnant, which she made noise about, but hasn't really mentioned since (I was quite firm with her about that topic, and our relationship isn't exactly rock-steady, so she laid off). BUT, my sister JUST had a baby (unplanned) and my mom is on her to have another one already. AND she's after my SiL to have a baby "so all the grandkids can be the same age". It drives me BONKERS! She's so unrealistic about where we are in our lives and what we want and what's best for our futures and our marriages and relationships and kids and finances. She just wants more grandbabies. This makes me INSANE!

That might keep her off your back for at least a few more months!

Nope. We made sure early on that our parents knew we were one and done. It's a lot easier that way. She knows I wish we could have more but also knows it's not feasible.

My mom has so many other grandchildren that I don't think she's that bothered about me getting pregnant again any time soon. Plus, I have been pretty firm about my plans to not get pregnant until LO is at least 2 years old. However, I do know that I would get a ton of grief if I decided to be a "one and done," which is what my brother and sister-in-law have done. My mom acts like it's the worst thing they could do to deprive my nephew of a sibling (her words, not mine!), yet he is a great kid - smart, respectful, really sweet- and doesn't really seem to be affected at all by being an only.
