We did the lead test via blood draw at his 1 year appt, thinking it was probably overkill, but we do have an older home (built 1928). The other screening question was for chipped or peeling paint, which we don't necessarily have, but the baby is always trying to bite and chew on things including Window sills and furniture! So we figured why not. And it came back elevated at 10.8! This is in the "level of concern" row on a chart I found online at my county's health department website. Interventions were to retest in 3 months and have someone from the county come check your house. I am sure they will tell me tons of info when they check our stuff but I am quite freaked out for now and worried about what it could be in our home.
Anyone have any experience to share? I found one old thread but I thought there would be more. We are suspecting it's our vintage clawfoot tub but I found conflicting info online about those being the source.
I know a lot of people are facing this problem in flint Michigan. Their problem is directly water related.
