I wouldnt name a pet or child after an ex (she has a stupid name anyway), but a plant wouldnt bug me. Although, there is a street in our city with her name and I wouldnt live on it. Hahaha, maybe im a little silly too.

I actually don't know DH's exes names. Or how many exes he has. And I don't care to know. It's all in the past, he married me, he created a baby with me. None of his exes were serious though, I do know that. Had he been engaged before, I might feel differently. But his exes were casual.

I don't know any of my ex's names, either. But, if I did, and I like d a flower, I wouldn't turn it down if it has his ex's name on it...maybe my ex's, though, haha.

BTW. I love that it's called Queen Charlotte. I live in Charlotte and Queen Charlotte has an interesting history here in NC.

My very serious ex was named Gordon, which is a name I love, but I could never use it for a pet or child now. My husband would never go for it (understandably) and if my ex ever found out he'd assume I was still in love with him (he's super full of himself).

I don't think it would bug me if I had a plant called "Gordon", though. I forget the name of most of the flowers I buy anyway lol. I'm not a big gardener though.

Definitely not a pet or a child - unless the pet was a pig or something LOL. A flower or something like that I don't see a problem with - I have rarely encountered people asking me what a flower in my yard is called or anything so it seems like it wouldn't come up.

@Crumbs: Is it an anenome? I'd just drop the variety from the name when referring to it. Like my lilac bush is a lilac to me, not a boomerang lilac. But regardless, if you are uncomfortable with it, don't do it (even if it makes you feel silly for a little bit).

Plants and flowers- yes. Pets name-no.
