At this point, I might just do the reveal. If both grandmom's know it's only a matter of time until the entire universe knows. You might as well take control of the situation and announce it, but be prepared for backlash since people can't seem to control themselves when it comes to the names of other people's unborn babies!

We are not telling anyone. Whenever anyone asks we say we have not decided! I agree with @Modern Daisy: in that I am sure they have told other people..

Do what you think is best, don't have your arm twisted. I am not at all comfortable with sharing our name choices, so we wont.

@grizz: You know what's funny is I've gotten so many rude comments about my married name! One woman I work with even said outright "That is a TERRIBLE last name!". I don't know why people are so rude, but they are!

At least with the baby's name you can choose to keep it to yourself until it is official, but like I said since the Gmom's already know I bet they've started telling people. Maybe if people see that it's already been monogrammed on something then they'll feel like it's more official though and be less inclined to be rude.

if you want to avoid controversy dont make it be a big "reveal" just open the gift and if people catch on they catch on that way some will still be surprised when you have the baby. What i've noticed and forgive me i'm still in the early stages of pregnancy is that if your confident in your choice and make it seem like you're unwavering people wont question it. Its when they still think theres wiggle room they try to convince you one way or another with a name. I can say we honestly have our boy's name picked 100% first, middle and nickname, i've gotten nothing but positive feedback (to my face at least). As soon as i mention options we like for an undecided girls name all the opinions come out

I would wait, since that's what you wanted to do originally. Don't let your Mum/MIL persuade you otherwise if you don't want to. Wouldn't want it to ruin your shower or make you unhappy if you had any negative reactions... people are weird!

I wouldn't tell - not worth the risk to ruin the day.

@grizz: you could always tell your mom and MIL that since everyone knows it's a boy the name is the one surprise left besides the actual day of birth if you don't want to reveal it.

I'm trying to keep our name options as quiet as possible because my family members have been quite rude at times about earlier choices.

I would wait! Take a picture of him in the outfit when he is born and have that be the reveal.
