I'm trying to unsuccessfully nap train my 10.5 month old. I should have started this sooner, but LO has always been a horrible napper and we would take whatever we could get with him.

Now that he'll be 11 months next week, I cannot keep rocking him down for his naps. He wakes up the second you lay him in his crib and he doesn't go back down resulting in maybe a 15 minute nap all day. I'm exhausted the days I work from home and my dad is exhausted the days he's here. My BFF has him 2 days/week, and he goes down no problem for her for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.

Today is day 2 of me trying to repeat the bedtime routine and placing him in his crib. We do this at night and he rocks on all 4s for maybe a minute and then lies down and falls asleep.

Yesterday, I tried this once in the morning which resulted in him screaming his head off for an hour and a half. I finally went in and got him for his lunch. Tried again in the afternoon which resulted in an hour and 15 minutes of him screaming...falling asleep for 15 minutes, screaming for another 30 minutes and falling back to sleep for 30. He was captain crabby for the rest of the night and put his head down before I made it out of the room for night time.

Day 2, and I didn't even try for a morning nap. Put him in his crib at 12:30, and he's still crying, standing, jumping up and down. I'm already exhausted. If I go in, he just gets even more upset, so can't do checks. I have a video monitor and I know he's ok...he just wants me in there to rock him to sleep.

Tell me I'm not a bad mama and this will get better. It took us a month and a half to sleep train him at night with no crying at all.
