Do you have a Target close by? A lot of the Liz Lange stuff is nursing-friendly. I was looking at dresses for myself, and came across these:

A dress like this would be super cute with these sleeves rolled up, paired with boots or flats & perfect for nursing.

I just wore a cami under regular shirts. Unbutton/pull up the top shirt, pull down the stretchy cami top (or pull it up if you're unbuttoning) and no one will see you're nursing. Most of my cami's didn't get stretched out even though I just yoinked the top part down a bit (I didn't bother getting nursing cami's).

@Arden: If I were you I'd head to Target, Old Navy, and/or a TJ Maxx and Marshalls. If money is more of an issue I'd scour any local consignment shops you have (but that can be more time consuming, obviously.

I'm guessing you can wear capris/crops?? I would personally, for a week, buy:

-1 pair dark denim or black crops/skinnies (or whatever length is appropriate & you like)
-1 pair bright colored crops/skinnies

-4 tops

-however many tanks you prefer (if you're happy to wear more than once or wash in the sink) that you can stretch down under nursing bra (or nursing tanks)

-2 dresses (but I think it's hard to find something nursing friendly that isn't sleeveless

-2 cardigans in neutral colors.

Dresses esp for summer. Put a caridgan pref. A color that can work with multiple dresses) to dress it up a little. Bid your on a budget, I would def check out consignment shops or or even the goodwill. I buy a lot of my clothes at sal army and I find name brands every time I go. Express, loft, jcrew. And we don't love in an expesnive area, just takes some rummanging around. The savings are amazing! Ross is also cheap.
What about some long knee length skirts?

I just bought a nice nursing top at target the other day. I would check out there.

I live in my nursing tanks with cheap but nice stretchy tops and I also have a couple of nice button down shirts that I just pair with jeans or dress shorts.

Unfortunately I'm in NZ so can't help with specific suggestions!

You are on the right track with the chambray thread - button down shirts can be casual, dressy and comfortable! J Crew has nice ones but I get most of mine from target, Gap and LOFT.

It looks cute with a v neck button cardigan too. I found mine for $20 in the sale section at the gap store. Usually stores have better sales than online IMO.

Cardigans were probably my go-to as a nursing mom - I had some nursing tanks I'd wear underneath. It was easy but chic. My favorite cardigan is from Ann Taylor Factory but it's out of season. Most stores sell the lighter cardis this time of year.

Dresses were a go to for summer - deep v necks with a nursing tank underneath is a good option as you won't stretch out the neckline. Also button up dresses like Shopaholic posted - there are some cute chambray style dresses out there!

I didn't mind pulling up my shirt to nurse but didn't want to expose my stomach so I always wore a tank top (favorite are the long and lean tanks from Target) with any regular top.
