DS (2.5 yo) has been dry the last 13 of 14 mornings. Has anyone experienced a LO potty training at night before they do it during the day? During the day he goes when we prompt him too and sometimes will tell us he needs to go but still goes in his diaper more than anything.

I have never heard of that but I read once that after they are dry for 3 weeks in a row you can assume they are trained - so that's what I followed with my kids -

D is doing the same thing! Wakes up dry and pees in the potty first thing. Has been consistent this entire week, and I think most of last week. The only time he didn't was on the weekend when I let him play in the crib for a bit after he woke up. I joked with my mom that he'll be the first kid in history to night-train before he day-trains!

He's starting daycare in a week and I'm hoping being in daycare will motivate him into a desire for daytime training as well.

@purrpletulips: Ha ha. D is in daycare and they put the kids on the potty every 2 hours, pretty consistently. He pees on the potty there once or twice a week. And he's only pooped on the potty 2x, ever - 1st time at daycare, 2nd time at home.

There's no such thing as night training, it's a biological thing that they do on their own. I'd take it, no matter when it happens!
