I can't be the only one, can I? Just curious if there are any others out there who are on HB but aren't crunchy...

Not crunchy!
ETA: I do a couple of crunchy things, but I don't consider myself crunchy . . . I do them because that's what works best for us!

@Zippylef I knew about you, or at least the FFing,(although not by choice) non co sleeping part. Glad you are around!
@Mslipgloss I'll have my eyes peeled for your avatar.
HB is supportive regardless but it does help to know there are some similar bees out there!

I'm actually really surprised at all the responses! Glad I'm not alone.

@googly-eyes: It is definitely nice to know who does things similar to you.

I was just thinking more about this. I don't like that trying to eat organic and using non-toxic cleaning products (which I do within reason - I don't make my own or anything and I only eat organic if the option is available and easy) is lumped in with homeschooling and home births. I think these things are so different!
Anyway...I don't think I'm very "crunchy" but I try to be healthy.

I'm not crunchy! I'd love to be...... but I like the easy life too much!

I think I'm pretty non-crunchy, although I have a couple things on which I lean towards crunch.

@Mrs Green Grass: I totally agree.
I don't consider myself crunchy even if some of the things I do are "crunchy".

I'm like a cross between preppy-crunchy. I eat mostly whole (non-processed foods) only because I'm on a diet, not because I'm trying to make the world a better place LO uses disposable diapers, and eats applesauce from a fruit pouch. The only times we co-slept were because I fell asleep from exhaustion. I do police what she eats pretty heavily, and we did BLW, but again, that was because to me it's easier than purees.

I'm not very crunchy at all! The hubby had to tell me about breastfeeding shoo! Myself and all my younger cousins were formula fed, so that's all I ever knew!

I'm not crunchy. We are CDing for $$ reasons and because they're so cute! And I am eagerly looking forward to an epidural. I would love to eat organic, but $...

@Mrs Green Grass: I am definitely into organic, local minimally or non processed food. Like you though, I don't consider that to be crunchy.

I am not crunchy. Planning to breast feed is probably the one way I'm not totally crunch free.

@Mrs Green Grass: I agree. I much prefer organic (if I can) and as much non-processed foods as possible, but that's because I do it for health purposes. Which I don't think is crunchy, just... responsible!

@Mrs Green Grass: I agree! I have things about me that could be considered crunchy, but there's other parts of my parenting style that totally aren't.

Definitely not crunchy! jarred puree-feeding, disposable diaper-ing, non-baby-wearing, never-co-sleeping, non-organic-eating, processed-foods-feeding, fast-food-feeding, bottle-feeding, tv-time-allowing momma here. Definite props to crunchy mommas because the crunchy stuff is definitely cool.

@mrs. wagon: hahahaha this is hilarious! I was just trying to think of all the "non-crunchy" things people do. You pretty much summed it up!

@Mrs Green Grass: I eat organic, but just because I think it tastes better and my milk stays good longer. lol
GOLD / pomelo / 5737 posts
@Mrs Green Grass: Same here. If I see a healthier option within my price range, sure, I'll get it. But when I think crunchy I think more along the lines of CD, EBF no matter the effort (which is admirable even from my non BF perspective), cobedding, etc. (For nonparenting issues I don't consider organic foods necessarily crunchy, but maybe growing your own food is.)

@mrs. wagon: Exactly! I have absolutely nothing against crunchy moms, but honestly I can't keep up with some of that stuff and I don't feel strongly enough about it to try at this point.

@tororojo: CDs are cute!!! If I could start all over I may have used cloth, at least p/t. But about halfway through the first year I'm not sure it's even worth thinking about, plus I've heard it's messy.

@zippylef: This is exactly why I eat as locally and organic sourced as possible....it just tastes better. ;-p wish I had a loftier reason, but at the end of the day, that's it!
