I'm preparing to throw a baby shower for my dear cousin and she has requested no embarrassing games. I want to honor that wish, so I want to come up with something that everyone will enjoy participating in but not feel awkward about. It's a family shower, so there will be all ages. I thought maybe a "guess that song/artist" with songs that have Baby in it and play clips but I didn't know if that would be too hard. Throw some ideas at me!

Word scramble (hand it sheets to the table- flip over and first one to complete). Match celebrity babies to their parents, guess how many X in a jar... Guess the size of the belly with string (is that embarrassing?). Who said what (mom or dad)

I recently played a book guessing game that was fun. The shower hosts put out children's books (some very well known like The Cat and the Hat, and some more obscure), then you had to match quotes to each book. So the host might say "On Monday he ate through one apple" (or whatever the actual line is) and you have to guess which book that came from. The host ended up giving the books from the game to the mom-to-be, but you wouldn't have to, of course.
I also like the Price is Right game where you set out a bunch of baby basics (small pack of diapers, baby wash, bibs, pacifiers, butt paste, etc) and attendees have to guess how much everything costs. Whoever gets closest to the total without going over wins. I've played that one as an individual game where everyone has their own sheet of paper, or as a group game where you work with a team to come up with the costs.

Guess the number of M&Ms in a baby bottle.
Guess the price of random small baby items (diaper cream, Tylenol, pacifiers, bath items etc.). You can do these individually or as a whole in a basket. Mom-to-be gets to keep the baby items.
Celebrity baby names. You have to match the kids to their celebrity parents.

I thought this was a fun game
Give the mom to be a tray full of baby essentials and small toys (this was my gift to the mom) have like 15-20 items on it - have the mom walk around and show everyone the tray for a few seconds then have her leave the room.
Once she is gone ask everyone the following :
What color shirt/dress/ etc was the mom wearing?
Did she have earrings on?
Is her hair up or down?
What kind of shoes was she wearing?
Were her nails painted? If yes, what colorHaha - totally confuse them since they were studying the items on the tray so hard!

I have done a game where you list celebrity kid names and you name the parents.

At one shower I went to, the grandmas-to-be each shared a bunch of cute little anecdotes about the parents-to-be. The hosts handed out a list of the different factoids and we all had to guess who each one was about. I thought that was fun

We did the celebrity baby name at a friend's shower, like @NCSUchick27: suggested, and it was a big hit. Another one we did was match the animal to their baby (so like, horse to foal, cow to calf, etc).
I was just at another baby shower where we had to match the animal with the gestational period.

At my shower one of the on-going game was guessing the prices of how much certain baby things costs; it was funny to see that even other moms can't get it right, and what people who don't have kids think this stuff cost!

Guess the waistline of mom AND dad - my sister did this, it was hilarious and fun.

We did a "Who did it first" game. We quizzed the grandmothers to-be about the Mother and Father.
- Who was born closest to the due date
- Who was born the fastest
- Who was bigger at birth
- Who cut their teeth first
- Who walked first
- Who said Momma first.The guests said "Mom" or "Dad" and then tallied up the scores. It was a great way to get the grandmothers involved and shared some stories about when they had them as babies.

I was at a coed shower where there was a contest to see who could finish a baby bottle of beer the fastest. (They were slow flow so it took way longer than anyone expected.)
I saw a shower on FB where people used fabric paint to decorate plain white onesies. That looked cute, but it's more of an activity than a game.
Otherwise I have generally been bored with shower games, to be honest. I would rather just hang out and talk.

For my sisters shower I made an awesome Baby Jeopardy board. The categories were things like celebrity mums & babies, animal babies, famous nursery rhymes, etc. Everyone was on a team and people were super into it! Great fun.

We did a mad lib that featured me and DH and the baby. Then the rest of the games we just made all the men do and it was hilarious. One was a race with a water balloon between their legs and the point was the cross the line without breaking your water. Another was putting a little juice in a baby bottle and seeing who could drink it the fastest.

We played the baby song game at my shower and most people had no idea what the songs were, so it was a bit of a flop. -
I love when people bring baby pictures from both sides of the family and everyone has to guess who is who.
