Nub Pic Question

We had our NT scan yesterday and BHo measured healthy and great, so that was a huge relief!

I have a pretty clear nub shot, but I know it's not yet possible to post pics on here. I posted the pic on the in-gender website for opinions...Is it ok to post the link here so you guys can see the pic and tell me what you think? I don't know if that breaks a rule so want to check!

I totally already went to the Memorial Day sale at Carter's and hauled a big bag of little --- clothes!!!

Ok- boy clothes. I am the lamest secret keeper!!!!

I am kind of hoping we get to use our boy name- Nash Michael!!!

Awwh! I love the name, so much. I'm glad to know LO is healthy! I'm useless with the photo help though--I just wanted to say congrats on the nub news!!!

sooo cute! love the name, and that's exciting you got a peek It's pretty hard to mistake a boy lol

and there are no rules against photos (that I know of) it's just that Mr. Bee hasn't found a photo uploading software (or something like that) that is what he is looking for.

Ohhhh....Okay! Thanks you guys for the info!

Well, I'm no techie, but I'm going to try to copy and paste from photobucket and we'll see how it goes...

Just to note: Is there any way that's not a nub and it's like umbilical cord or something? The tech wouldn't fully commit to her guess because she couldn't get anything on a potty shot to show (but I read that at 12w, potty shots are not reliable)...So when we met with the perinatologist afterward, I tried to get her opinion...B/c she's an expert, right???? She said she never makes calls this early because it could be part of the umbilical cord or something. Booo, Dr.

BUT- I read that the nub theory is pretty accurate, and when it's not, it's usually the case where the nub looks like a girl nub, when it's really a boy nub, and it just hasn't SPRUNG yet and is still lying parallel. We think that's what happened to Elley's nub- he was a late springer:)

And finally, on In-gender, someone posted that "he's curled up, but I'm still leaning toward boy." Let me know if you think he's too curled up to make it as accurate!

Sorry for the epic post! I have thought it was a boy the whole time...We have called the baby "he/him" from the get-go, and even though I just want a healthy baby (for REALZ!), I haven't been able to really bond with the idea that it's a girl at all, because everything in me feels like it's a boy. Sooooo, I have to admit that I was really happy when I saw that nub on the screen yesterday. I kind of started freaking out and the tech had to calm me down!

That looks totally boyish to me and i have scrutinized these nubs so much i need mental help. I think you intuition is right. Now we wait for the confirmation. Luckily girls can wear boys clothes too but it really does look like a boy nub to me. the way it's pointing up slightly. And that is definitely the nub and not the cord. Ingender.com i got 100% boy guesses and they were right on the money.

@MrsMccarthy: Thanks, girl! My post on ingender.com is all boy replies too! Thank you for answering the nub vs. umbilical cord...Right after the dr told me that, they told me that when I come in for part 2 bloodwork for my Triple Screen, that I could elect to have an early gender ultrasound instead of waiting for the 18-20 week one. So then I thought maybe they don't want to confirm anything at 12 weeks, because they want you to come back and pay (cash) for the optional early one....I'm getting an early one done at 15 weeks at another place, so we'll know in just 3 weeks. But um, yeah, I totally hit that Carter's sale bc I was so excited!

I'm no expert (as I'm sure I've read the same websites as you!) but my gut reaction is definitely boy. My girl nub shot looks much more flat. Hope you get Nash Michael, but in case you don't...I have a couple "boy" outfits I'll totally be dressing our girl in so you wouldn't be alone!!

@googly-eyes: thank you for looking! I'm saving receipts for sure:). I'm kind of embarassed to say that I have already purchased a wardrobe, so we'll definitely be returning a lot if it's a girl. And I'll feel SO embarassed. And DH will NEVER let me live it down!

LOL I don't think you're the only one! On my Babycenter birth board people started to buy things really early. I didn't buy anything totally gender specific until the anatomy scan but I did buy like sports teams onesies...

I've kept receipts but I don't know off the top of my head how long the return period is so it might be for nothing since by the time of my next scan (to check the placenta at 30+weeks) it might be over!!
ETA Luckily we've bought gender neutral gear, it's just clothes..(lots of them bought by us and our mothers!)

hehe yeah that's my wedding picture. i was skinny with long hair last year. now i am a round preggie with short hair.
i don;t think they want your cash. most Ultrasound techs wont give you 100% ever! not even if there is a penis right there plain as day. they arent supposed to because ultrasounds can be tricky and things can be swollen or obscured. 12 weeks is early but the nub theory does have a nice 80% to it. 15 weeks may be early but so long as you don't forgo the 18-20 week id say go for it. most of them are accurate AND like i said before, i don;t think there is anything wrong with a girl dressed in some boyish clothes if you were in that small minority of mis-guesses. But i really think you are intuiting right. That looks like a boy nub to me hands down.

I also think boy! Our girl nub pic was like highwire, entirely flat. It was confirmed girl at a 15w elective US and again at 18w anatomy scan!

@Chastenet: Seriously. SERIOUSLY. The only thing I can think of is that my U/S was at 12w1d and maybe little man's nub hadn't "sprung" yet like J was talking about? No clue. Complete and utter shock lol.

@Running Elley: I think you know I'll be in complete and utter shock if BHo is a girl! K said he's not letting me return any of the clothes I bought. I'll just dress our daughter like a boy and that should teach me for next time. Meanwhile our daughter will have tons of gender issues and terrible baby photos to show at her HS Graduation/Wedding. Fabulous parenting already, K!!

I'm awful at reading ultrasounds, even when it's plainly obvious, nub or right there in your face junk, but my gut says you're having a boy. And I'm rarely wrong on the internet guessing.

Although I was sure Elley was having a girl, so there's that
