@MommySLP: I'd skip for Disney (OK, I'd tell myself I'd skip but inevitably still be hopeful) I had an IUD before my daughter and I'd say the 4th cycle was pretty much back to normal, 5th cycle she was conceived.

@Tionn3: From my own unofficial observations it seems like my friends either get pregnant in the first month or two of trying or it's an ordeal - it takes a long time or there are lots of chemicals and miscarriages or both. And it seems different for each attempt most of the time, like one friend conceived her first two the first try each and they tried for a 3rd for years and had multiple losses. It's so tricky and so hard. I'm really grateful to have friends who talk about it openly, at least among friends, because it really helps normalize this frustrating process. Most people have been there unfortunately. It sucks, I hope your journey leads quickly to a baby .

@Tionn3: actually, we always went on dates all the time and went away together on trips a lot. we miss those times. Just have to appreciate the alone time, knowing that you have kids in the future... we weren't sure what our family was going look like (adoption, etc), but we knew we'd have a family one way or another... i think it's good to have some sorta plan. We decided to go thru intervention and if that didn't work, we would try for adoption...

I haven't been here in quite a while, but we have decided to go for #3! Excited to be back.

    Cycle Day: ?
TTC Cycle: 1 - Got my IUD out on Sept 27th and had my period on Sept 29th
    Ovulation Date: Oct 8th
    POAS Date: Oct 22nd
    Baby #: 3
What's up this month: Like I said, just got my IUD out and my period returned immediately. I'm 35yo now, so if I do get pregnant I will be "advanced maternal age", yuck.
For Fun: What are you (or your LO) dressing up as this year for halloween? My 5yo daughter will be Rey from Star Wars, and since 2yo daughter doesn't care at this point, she's going to be Yoda.

Good luck to everyone still in the TWW, and congrats to all the BFP so far!!!

Hi all. I know my POAS date was Oct 5th and with AF a no show I secretly hoped that I might get a BFP soon after but it just seems I missed my period completely, which also explains why I couldn't see a positive OPK either. So am just going to have to start testing OPKs again. It's strange not having a cycle day though - only 2 months in to ttc and I thought I might 'get the hang' of it this month but I realise it's not that straightforward. I'll be cheerleading for the rest of this month. Welcome to the recent joiners, @ttckp and @mekarual

    Cycle Day: 30
    TTC Cycle: 3
    Ovulation Date: 14 DPO
    POAS Date: today
    Baby #: 2
What's up this month: I had a false-positive last cycle, which was confirmed by a terrifyingly unexpected AF in addition to a blood test two days after showing no sign of pregnancy. I'm reluctant to believe I just got a BFP today despite taking four tests. I'll keep you all posted.
For Fun: What are you (or your LO) dressing up as this year for halloween? My 19mo is dressing as a lost boy from Peter Pan. He chose a fox costume from Target and the hood doesn't fit properly LOL so a lost boy was fitting.

@Banana330: thanks for checking! Got a bfn on Sat am. Given our awful timing this month I will probably not test again and just wait on AF. At least that's what I'm telling myself for now!

I am pretty sure I O'd yesterday, even tho fertility friend predicted today. I felt the sharp twinge in my left side. Had a + OPK for the last two days, and then the peak + today. So officially 1 DPO in my first TWW. Ahhhh!!!!

  24. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

4DPO is such a lonely day in the TWW. Too early for anything to happen, too early to obsess, too early to test. Normal people don't even think about 4DPO...but not me!

    @Mrs. Blush: exciting!

@Mrs. Blush: @Petitduck: @winniebee: Fingers crossed for a tww that zips by and ends with BFPs!

@combatlibby: Those look pretty convincing to me! Have you tried a different brand or googling your batch of wondfos? Assuming it's not a bad batch I'd say your definitely pregnant!

    @Cole: thank you!

@banana330: I've been trying to find out what an anovulatory cycle means. If anyone else has skipped a period recently - do you just keep counting cycle days until your next period? Wait it out or try to use OPKs to find ovulation? I've not skipped a period since I was stressed in university which was more than 10years ago! It didn't bother me then at all but now it's frustrating as just want to start a new cycle. Sorry to ask lots of questions! Hope those tww zip by definitely!

  30. Banana330

    nectarine / 2317 posts

@Tubbs: I can't remember are you temping? I would keep counting until you bleed. If your cycle gets really long then you can get something to induce a period and start again. Stress can cause it. For me whenever I've had an unusually long cycle AF always shows up the day I book an appointment to do something about it

  31. Cole

    grapefruit / 4649 posts

@Tubbs: I would keep counting and probably do cheapie opks. I'm also nutty enough that I'd call my doctor's office and ask whenever they would suggest I come in so I had a mental cutoff date because limbo makes me crazy.

Thanks for being patient with me guys. I've been trying hpt since October 5th - have taken more than 10 and thought I'd use up my last cheapie hpt this morning even though I started using OPKs again yesterday. Is this worth getting excited about? I'm on cd46 and every hpt has been stark white until now!

I think I have one Clear Blue test left - should I wait a few days before trying that? Am so used to seeing the bfn results, I'm not sure what to do with myself now!

@Tubbs: stalking! Totally worth getting exciting about! Can't wait to see the CB results.

So the Clear Blue result looks more definitive. I'm out of hpts now but will buy a digital one after work - I think I need to see the word 'pregnant' before I think about telling my husband.

I decided to randomly test last night (10dpo), even though I swore I was going to wait till Wednesday/Thursday. I saw a light line! Testing this morning the line is a little darker but still pretty light. Haven't told DH yet because it still doesn't feel real. The bottom two are last night and the top one is this morning. (Please excuse the little hairs from my makeup brush )
