I don't even know what to say about it. How brave of those men and how incredibly sad at the same time. I can't even imagine being protected physically by DH while he was getting shot. How horrible.

Wow, I had no idea that happened. Those men are heros! I can't even imagine what was going through their minds at that moment that they were willing to sacrifice themselves to save their loved ones - so brave and inspiring. And tragic.

i'm tearing up at work reading this article... i can't imagine what these people had to go through, and i imagine being in their place and what i would do if my husband ever got torn from me like that..... unbelievable.

Wow. I cannot even imagine how devastating that would be. I’m crying just having read the article and thinking about it! I’m sure that DH would do the same thing and I just…..can’t imagine.

That just makes me cry. I am so glad we are able to hear stories of heroes now instead of stories of that murderer. Such a tragedy to lose those men who you know were some of the best out there if they were willing to give up their lives for another.

OMG!! My heart is even more saddened by this additional information. Sigh...

man, that video had me in tears. that poor, poor girl. they are heroes for sure.

I knew about this...those men were very heroic, it's too bad that they had to sacrifice their lives for those actions. This is so tragic.

sigh... this story just makes me angrier and angrier. Peoples lives are so torn now because of one sick guy who decided to kill random people. The pictures of him in court are sickening with his stupid red hair, he doesnt even look sorry in the slightest.

this whole thing makes me so, so sad. I agree with @mediagirl, there is a thing going around on facebook that says "10 likes = 1 punch" or something stupid with the killer's mug shot above it. why are we giving him so much attention? i tried googling the victims not to be morbid, but wanting to know more about what happened, and all I can find is information about the killer and how this was "so out of character"

This is so sad, one of the women's interviews was actually broadcasted on our local news the other night. I feel like the trial is going to be a psychological dog and pony show where the guilty party was in a PhD program studying abhorrent behavior. I sincerely hope that the prosecutor goes for the death penalty, wins and they put this rabid dog down and these women can try to put their lives back together.

I read a listing of all of the victims and a lot of them died trying to protect others. Boyfriends protecting girlfriends, parents protecting children. It's tragic that heroes like that had to lose their lives. I know my husband would do the same without even thinking. Heck he puts himself in front of me when we cross the street because he's so super protective. It's one of the things I love most about him, but at the same time I don't know how I would ever come to terms with knowing that he lost his life protecting mine.

Stories like these are so hard to read, and even more hard for these women to live, but it is also a wonderful thing to see that for the one man who took all those lives, here are four other men who are good and strong and brave.
I hurt for their wives/girlfriends - and for their mothers.

@sorrycharlie: That's the thing that is so frustrating to me. It is obvious that a lot of his motives had to do with wanting the attention from the media and society. And he's getting exactly what he wants. I wish people would quit giving him the attention he desires.

That is so great. I love men who are real MEN. As for the guy who left his girlfriend, 4 year old, and infant baby and ran for himself, got in the car and drove around.. I wish hateful things for him. He put the baby on the ground because it was crying and he said it was going to get him caught/killed. The next day he proposed to the girl & she.said.yes. I don't understand people. These two are getting more publicity than any other survivor and it makes me sick. More publicity than the guy who actually saved the mom & her kids. Uhg.

@MrsTiz: omg what a douche!!! i can't believe he left his gf and kids.. -.-
@mrbee: you can't post things like this for pregnant and hormonal women to read!!! so so sad

I was so sad when i read about these brave, selfless men. I agree with @sorrycharlie -- i HATE the attention he is getting. I would rather have the media focus on the victims, and not this crazed lunatic who never should have had such easy access to assault weapons.

So sad.
There is some good news in this tragedy. I read this article, yesterday, on facebook. It is a miracle. http://bstrait.wordpress.com/2012/07/22/a-miracle-inside-the-the-aurora-shooting-one-victims-story/
