Is norovirus wreaking havoc on your family? E got it Friday, Dh got it, and now i'm just waiting to get it. When i talked to the pediatrician, she said she's been seeing it a LOT lately. And my friend at work just went home and threw up all over herself 
Is it everywhere where you are? I even brought a can of Lysol to work.

Everyone's been talking about a stomach bug, so I'm assuming this is what it is. DH and I had it and it was horrible. LO only had the diarrhea part, though so we got lucky.

DH had it a over a month ago. Luckily R and I never got it. Then I got about three weeks ago, but it was 24 hours, and then DH got it the next day. Again luckily R never got it.

Yep the entire preschool class had it. So gross and horrible. What makes me mad is that some kids only missed one day of school and then they were back. Still contagious!
I hope you don't get it and also hoping for a quick recovery for your family!

omg E was a barfing machine Sat, i actually called the ped because i was so worried. 7 times in 90 min! DH only threw up once so it hit her worse....the ped said E was ok to go back to daycare today, though.
@hlk, yikes, one day is not enough! i mean, E technically didn't throw up yesterday but i still didn't want her around anyone!

We haven't gotten it but I had it last may and spent one night in the ER and another night in the hospital, it was SO bad. I'm hoping I've paid my dues and it skips my family this time!!

All of us got it last year. It was brutal. LO slept through it while DH threw up that night. I thought I was clear from it, then hours later it hit me. So not fun.

NOOOO. I have a vomiting phobia so posts like these make me cringe! I've been seeing lots of FB posts about people having stomach bugs, though.

We had it in January! Xander luckily felt better pretty much immediately (he threw up in the middle of the night and in the morning and then seemed fine the rest of the day), but I was really sick for a good 24 hours! And Hubs didn't catch it!

If you get it - stay hydrated! There's nothing worse than throwing up with an empty stomach!!!!

We have it here- it sucks. C threw up a couple of times and then just seemed really cranky and not settled. Then I got it, and then Dh.
Does anyone know how long you are contagious?

it has a 48 hour incubation period, I know that! And dr said that she wasn't contagious after the 36 hour no-vomitting period. But it can live on surfaces for a few days.....

Omg isn't it the worst just waiting to get stock? That's what it was like last week when DH had strep. I was just waiting for the pain! I was not left waiting long.

@blackbird: I've been bleach wiping the light switches and door knobs but that's about all I can handle. I need to clean all her toys but I'm so tired.

Blech, my dd had this last week. She threw up 7x in 2 hours and then fell asleep. Threw up once more in the morning and then was fine. I caught it a couple days later and was laid up with extreme nausea and couldn't get out of bed for a couple days. I probably should have just barfed and felt better but I am a chicken about that kind of stuff. Dh doesn't seem to have caught it. Our nanny had it too, she threw up on the subway! Poor thing.

@SleepyMonkey: I was the same way- never threw up but the nausea was (is) horrible. Dh said I should have thrown up but I just never needed to.

@Foodnerd81: the nausea is debilitating! I was completely useless those two days. I feel better today but still no appetite and some waves of nausea throughout the day. hope you feel better soon!

We had it in our house at the end of january. Fi was 4 months old and we ended up in the ER because she needed fluids i never want to go through that again

I don't think it's the norovirus, but a 24 hour stomach bug has been working it's way around school/my classroom. I was lucky enough to get it last week and I'm praying I don't get it again.

Fuck, you guys are making me more nervous, lol. I have a bachelorette party Saturday night and I want to see my friends!!! Wah.
I may have gently reminded DH that this is what morning sickness feels like 
But yeah, if it's going to hit me, i hope it does it soon and doesn't wait until Friday. That'd be an unusually long wait, I think.

Our neighbor upstairs has it. We got in the elevator and got stuck with them right after her son had thrown up in the car! We were all holding our breath lol

I had it a couple months ago -- it was awful. H was thisclose to taking me to the hospital because I couldn't even keep down water or ice chips for hours and hours. I hope you're all feeling back to normal soon!

Ugh we have it here! I had it Saturday (still recovering). I never threw up, but was so nauseous I couldn't even move. I thought everyone else had escaped it, but A just threw up everywhere when he woke up from his nap and then again while I was getting him undressed and once more right after I bathed him. No fever or other symptoms so I guess we will just wait it out. I feel so sad for him!!

@blackbird: LO just got sick four times, once all over both of us so we took a bath together and cleaned up. He is napping now and nursed without getting sick so I am VERY hopeful that he will be okay for the rest of the afternoon.

Yep Luckily LO got over it really quickly - she came down with it last Tuesday night, was better by Wednesday evening. DH and I got it Thursday night, and although DH was better by Saturday afternoon, I wasn't fully recovered until Monday morning.
I HATE NOROVIRUS.
It's still going around LO's daycare...the director said she had 2 more people sick today. ugh. efff.
:edit: on top of that, LO has an ear infection. Poor kid.

@Bookish: Not to be too graphic, but when you say you weren't fully recovered, were you getting sick that whole time? I had it Saturday and still feel really bloated and crampy after I eat and it is four days later!

Kinda? I was throwing up from Thurs night - Fri night, Saturday I was ok, and then I was mainly really nauseous on Sun - Mon. It felt like morning sickness. Blegh. It's now..what, Wednesday? and I still feel a little wonky at times. Hope you feel better soon!!

@tlcbaby: It sounds like we had it the same (never threw up just debilitating nausea). I got it Sunday and I felt almost normal yesterday and pretty much normal today, but I do agree that sometimes after eating, I feel off. Not getting sick or anything, so I'm thinking it's my stomach still adjusting to not eating at all earlier. Also I made chicken soup and accidentally made it too spicy, so there's that too.

Ugh, I hate norovirus! DH had a mild case on Sunday, DS had it complete with diarrhea on Saturday and Sunday, and I've been nauseous since Sunday, but yesterday was by far the worst. So disgusting. Give me a thousand colds over a repeat instance of noro *shudders*

@Bookish: @Foodnerd81: Well I will take "not feeling normal" over how I felt a few days ago, but I will be happy when I just feel like myself again. I've been eating a lot of yogurt and stuff hoping it might help, but it doesn't really seem to make a difference.

@tlcbaby: i had the same thing...no throwing up, but extreme nausea on saturday/sunday. monday i felt better but not 100%. i woke up feeling sick again this morning because i think i ate "too much" last night (bowl of dry cereal after dinner). when are we going to feel normal again?? i'm bummed out by my inability to eat normally! and everyone's like "ARE YOU PREGNANT?!"

Wahhhh it finally got me DH is bringing me crackers and Gatorade. I felt funny after I worked out, assumed I needed to eat, and never felt better. Finally threw up this afternoon. Felt better, now feeling worse. I hope it's over soon
