I have an online only registry with myregistry.com--but I like this because I can add items from any website to the registry. The majority of my items come from Amazon, Babies R Us, and Target, so that the old school people who want to buy something in a store could still go to get some of the items on my list from the store if they want to.

I have about 125 items on the registry--though this includes large items (furniture) and small items, as well as some things specifically for me related to postpartum and breastfeeding.

I registered at Amazon and Babies R Us, but there are very few things in store at BRU anyways, so it's practically an online only registry. I wish there were more things in store, because in my experience, if the shower is on a Sunday, 95% people won't shop until that Saturday. Which means they'll likely be a lot of clothes and blankets in my future. I'm just praying that people give gift receipts.

My cousin registered at only B&M stores, but none of her items were available in local stores! They were all online only. So make sure that some items are actually available to be purchased at your local stores otherwise it would defeat the purpose.

One thing that is nice about Amazon is you can add things from any website as well, plus they tell you when the items are purchased and by whom, so if you forget or someone doesn't write it down for you at your shower, you can check back when writing thank you notes.

Many people have bought us things online and either had it shipped to themselves before the shower or shipped straight to us (and they'll probably bring a book to the shower since we're doing that thing as well). But I still think it's nice to have both options just in case.

Oh also....if you have Prime - you get 2 day free shipping on those super saving items!! Woohoo!

I know someone who registered at Target this past summer and didn't have any issues! I planned to register there and BRU for different price points. In the little note area, I plan to write, "Please include gift receipts just in case!" I don't particularly care what people think..LOL!
