Only one in the world to not have done pro photos

We're getting some done this weekend, but I can see why you haven't! I also refuse to pay $$ for something that looks like I could have taken it with my own nice digital and done some super basic editing. And I want digital rights. Luckily, there are people in my area who do minis, and through FB I've been able to find some photographers who aren't experienced enough to be mega expensive but definitely have talent.

never have, and probably never will!

Hasn't stopped me from wishing/wanting, but I just can't splurge!

We've never done pro photos other than our wedding and I don't think we will.

    Do Sears portraits count?

I drool over the pictures here, all we can afford is groupon discounts for department stores. I like them, but love the family fun fresh air styles that would cost way more than I want to pay. (:

We did only because our wedding photographer gives a free photo session for your first child, so we thought why not... but otherwise, we probably wouldn't have. We are very into taking photos of J, and love our own photos, so I never felt the need to get professional ones.

@locavore_mama: pick me! I never even had them for my wedding day! I only had them done one time in highschool.

I never saw this thread when it was first posted! I love pro photos and I want to do a family session this year! We skipped it for maternity and newborn pics for #2 and I kinda regret it now.

Photos mean a lot to me, so I prioritize them over things like, well, most things.

We've received a couple photo sessions as gifts, but most of them have been haggled down and then paid for in installments over the course of a few months. No eating out, no movies, no Internet at home, no TV, no expensive cell phone plans - all that money goes toward photography.

So I don't think you have to have a lot of money to afford pro photos - you just have to really want them and be willing to sacrifice for them!

We didn't have a pro for our wedding (we had a friend that was a good amateur), but since then I've started to value photography more. It's really not that important for some people though, which I understand

@autumnlove: haha I think I convinced DH to do pics now! I'm just not sure whether I want a summer maternity family shoot or wait till the fall for a new family shoot!
