I really want to repaint my Living room, Dining room and Master bedroom, but I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant and it's too cold here to leave windows open for a long duration. Any thoughts, ideas or recommendations? I also have a 14 month old son to figure into this equation...

I'm more lax on that stuff than most so I'd feel okay using no VOC pain.

I painted the nursery in the second trimester and my living room when I was 37 weeks pregnant. My husband works for a paint manufacturer and assures me that all this "fume" stuff is just scaremongering - the only concern is that the smell might set off pregnancy queasiness. My baby is fine and my house looks lovely.

I also painted in my 3rd trimester. We had just moved into our new house, and DH had so many more urgent things to take care of our nursery was never going to get painted if I left it up to him. It was January (in Boston), I put on a hat and a thick sweatshirt, and painted with the windows open. My doctors were fine with it. They weren't wild about getting up on the ladder but I did it anyway

I painted in my 2nd trimester (or 3rd? Can't remember). It was summer so we had a fan & windows, but it was alright. I agree about low/no VOC paints if you're concerned.

I painted my boys' nursery with my husband when I was 30 weeks pregnant using no VOC paint. Also, I just repainted our family room this past weekend after the boys went to bed for the night. I did one-half of the room Friday night and finished it up Saturday night. That was using low odor, no VOC paint+primer.
