LO doesn't talk yet, and sometimes I think it would be nice if she could just tell me what she wanted. I hate having to make all of her decisions for her and just hoping that's what she wants. But then I think that when she can talk, she can talk back. And that's no fun.

Ever since Wagon Jr. started to talk, I've enjoyed parenthood MILLIONS of times more!!! It literally was like a 180 degree turn for me. He used to just be work.... now I really enjoy spending time with him.
He's only JUST started talking back a little at 2.5 years. It was great until that started.

Talking is much better...it cuts down on everyone's frustration. But there are other ways to communicate, like using pointing to objects or pictures, which we've done with a little success.

This isn't with my kids, but with kids in general. I like them either before they start talking, or when their talking is intelligible. They get frustrated far more easily in the in-between stage. With my godson, though, I picked up his "language" pretty quick, so i imagine the in-between stage is easier with one's own kids.

@cyneswith: I also worry that I won't be able to understand my LO because I don't understand my friend's kids. But hopefully it's different with your own! -
@artbee: I think it's a lot different with your own, especially since you're a SAHM! You are around her all the time and most of the things she says will be parroting you.
I love that she can talk, because then she can say funny things. But there is something sweet and innocent about that mute stage in the beginning.

HAHA... my mom always says that I was the PERFECT baby... until I learned to talk : ) I talked A LOT (still do).

@artbee: hurmm. She said umma and appa before she turned 1, but she really started picking up words and understanding what we were saying after her 1st birthday.
